Also didn't we just pay 80m euro for Pepe yesterday? I mean, today might not be the day to roll around laughing at Utd for spending 85m.

Wouldn’t be surprised if Leicester tried for Chambers with some of that money. They wanted him a couple of years ago.

Yanited have made good signings at inflated prices.

Proper boring on paper though you have to say.

Maguire is great as an auxiliary attacker . Not sure it makes them more secure defensively though. Rather have bought Bielik does the same thing .

Attackers have always been worth more than defenders that’s how the market has been for years.

Saying that, I actually like Maguire but he’s no VVD and a lot of people were laughing at VVD when he went for that ridiculous fee.

Utd would have done much better swapping Lukaku for Škriniar and then getting in someone like Moussa Dembele from Lyon, that would have represented better value and they would have got a quality defender.

True, can't argue with that. But Maguire is good, and maybe more importantly he's English and established in the NT. Utd are clearly trying to build a core of British players. Could pay dividends in the future on the pitch and commercially. If he does well then after a season no one will care that he cost 80m odd.

True however this is better than Trashford, Martial and whatever striker they’re getting.

Auba Laca Pepe
Selling Lukaku and replacing him with Dybala will cost them imo. Not enough goals in their side.

United need CM, if they lose Pogba they could finish 8th.

You just compared one of best wingers is europe to a guy who is decent defender and nowhere near to Van Dijk level. Manutd did overpay.

I just don't see the difference. They're both good transfers, and they were both a bit excessive. We were happy with Pepe, Utd fans will be happy with Maguire. He makes them better, simple as that.

Van Dijk wasn't on this Level in Southampton too, Maguire could make the next step at Manchester.
They can pay it, so it's their decision. Better get your first choice than a worse second choice. Liverpool waited long for Van Dijk too.

Only big difference is Klopp and Ole. Klopp is one of the 2 world best at the moment, Ole is only a mediocre head coach so far.

Ole has to get results now with this team, think they will be in the Top 4 at the end of the season. But not sure with or without Ole.

Manutd now are miles better defensively but offensively everton attack is better and their center midfield it bit meh apart from Pogba. the top 4 race will be as close as last season too.
