Fabinho was 24 when he signed for Liverpool actually. Salah 25, Mane 24, Robertson 23, Wijnaldum 25, Firmino 23. I’m spot on man, you’ve spoken about things aside from my point. Talking about roid regime, overpriced at the time (which ended up being a bargain) and an incorrect age for Fabinho.

My point isn’t about how well known they are. In fact, people of that age bracket are pretty well known players, but there’s a level to go up in a new environment. Unknowns would usually be the first bracket I mentioned where players are much more raw.

Never said it was the only way to success. But it’s a great way to success for the reason I explained; timeline and hitting it big quickly if you get it right (while also having a long runway of success as we have seen with Liverpool).

Also, football has changed? You’re talking about things in the past (not surprised with you 😉) . The transfer window and the way it works has changed massively over the last 10-15 years. In the Banter Era we could sign these random unknown players from France uncontested for peanuts. These days there’s way more money in football and also across the PL. You’re getting really raw players going for crazy money.

The bracket of players I speak about are very well known in today’s world, and sometimes come expensive. But it’s the best age bracket to buy at imo (it’s where I think the highest frequency of signings a club like us or Liverpool should be making). If you have an immediate need for them in the starting XI that is.

As I mentioned above, look at how we elevated ourselves after the couple years of signing the likes of Ødegaard Gabriel and White. And they’re still young.
Yea fair enough on Fabinho. Still you posted an incorrect age for VVD and conveniently forgot about Alisson who's probably after Salah their most important signing.

Anyways my point you skipped over is Liverpool are not the first club to go after players just about to hit their prime.

Being a poster club doesn’t mean you’re the first or only club. But they did it with a lot of intent (was clear what they wanted to do), with a lot of success and longevity of success. They’re a fantastic case study into my point, and also the timeline thing is massive imo. Your whole team hit prime around the same age and can win things. Only drawback is sorting the squad out when they age; which they have done incredibly. You gotta let some leave and extend the best while rejuvenating the squad. They’ve been run extremely well.

Jamie Carragher’s wishlist signing una
The glaze that KDB gets from English media is unmatched.

He is very clearly past his prime and wouldn’t be able to play week in week out at a PL + CL side without his body breaking down.

MLS or Saudi is at his level fitness/body wise. Other than joining a weaker slower league like let’s say Serie A.

Conte will have De Bruyne looking like his prime years in no time.

Are the sales from his next album going to be the financial lever they need to sign him?

Arsenal Quotes

I still have an interest in training and development, in the stages that make it possible for players first to acquire technique (between 7 and 12) and then to develop physically (between 12 and 16), then to deepen their mental resilience (between 17 and 19) and finally between 19 and 22 to acquire what is critical, like the roof of a house without which all the rest rots away: intelligence and motivation
