For all his lacks and strengths what he truly lacks is endproduct. If he only made the right decisions in front of goals then he would be an insane player. I could live with the bad touches and the maverick playstyle he has shown quite a times, but when he makes the wrong decisions in front of goal continually it gets a bit hard to defend him.

His goal and assist rate in the league is one every 375 minutes in 1.124 mins. That's just not good enough. His overall stats for the club is one every 213 minutes over 2.127 mins which isn't that bad, but the real issue is him being insanely inconsistent which everyone knew who watched him more than a game or two at Chelsea.

I do still think he's an addition to our squad, but he shouldn't have been bought at the expense of someone else at that price. We should've gotten a proven elite player first who would've been a nailed on starter for our left wing.

Semenyo was the achingly obvious choice with him being able to play both left and right wing at a high level along with a reserve CAM-/ST aswell. This would've freed up Martinelli and Trossard to deputize at RW while still being able to play Nwaneri/-Dowman. Instead we ended up spending £52m on Madueke while still not adressing the real problem with not having a nailed on LW due to lack of quality. Both Trossard and Martinelli are decent players, but they are not starters unless they're having a good period of form which means they have to overperform to get into the squad over someone like Saka and Semenyo but still being good enough to keep them on their toes if their level drops too much.

I would rather have Martinelli as a pure backup on both RW and LW than Madueke. I do think the club handled the whole affair badly. The worst part of it was that it wasn't a panic buy, it was a calculated choice by the club and I do not understand their decision.

To summarize: The club should've bought a LW first and foremost and the price was too high, but I am still happy he's in the squad as we have an alternative to Saka even though I still think we should do better if he doesn't improve.

You can tell why the Chelsea fans weren’t really feeling his greedy antics. Him, Jackson and Palmer were constantly trying to out do each other. I can’t even remember the below but imagine he tries to steal a goal like this in the CL Final and it gets ruled out or something:

I’m howling at how shamelessly he says this is what they pay him to do 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I believe he was 50k at Chelsea and is now 150k here, unfortunately capology.com is very reliable for these things and it would explain why personal terms were ‘not a problem’ according to the journalists. Guy probably couldn’t believe his luck.

I honestly think those rumours of him coming here without a pay rise where encouraged by the club because it took a good while for official confirmation of his salary to come out but the sad truth is we tripled his wage.
What's the fetish with these Chelsea players? Arteta has a really bad eye for attacking talent. He has an excellent eye for defensive players, but someone else needs to be handling the attacking recruitment. If the team had better talent than Havertz, Madueke, Gyokeres, Trossard (I like Martinelli as a squad option), we would be the best team in Europe by far. Also get another creative mid, Ødegaard might be done as a top EPL player. His level might be the Italian league or Bundesliga very soon.

I was big on Semenyo and Cherki last summer, sad they both go to ManC. One of them instead of Noni would have made Arsenal EPL champion on April 2026. Buying Noni maybe Berteta worst decision so far.

I think at times Noni gets a bit of unfair stick from the fanbase.

He was average on Tuesday, it happens but pulling out of a 50/50 the way he did, I've got some issues with his mentality there. Really poor. You have to put your body on the line in a game of that magnitude, doesn't matter if you're Mesut Özil or Tony Adams.

Our biggest miss was still letting Kvadratskhelia go unchallenged to PSG. He was the perfect player for our LW. Everytime I watch him play for PSG I can just imagine him playing for Arsenal under Wenger

Totally agree, Ødegaard never makes any changes either. Just runs around looking busy

One of the more pointless players I've ever watched in the Arsenal side. He's only out there for sprints. Think this transfer was one where some scouts fell in love with the raw materials. You can see he has the physical attributes and dribbling but he's just ****e. I was actually quite impressed with his duel winning at the start of the season but he's completely regressed.

1) He has zero end product
2) He almost always makes the wrong decision in the final third
3) Every time he takes on a full back it ends up being ran out into the first row, turn over in possession or an empty cross
4) He doesn't support the full back and you see a NOTICEABLE difference in our OOP shape, press and tempo when Saka is out there

I would say he's a passenger but then he just runs and runs. We signed a track and field merchant for 52m. Please get rid of in the summer. Worst Chelsea transfer in our history. Please stop doing business with them.

Semenyo had just renewed and his release clause didn't kick in til January. Had his agent done better for him, he'd probably be an Arsenal player now.

Can't imagine we were ever after Cherki, as there were a lot of question marks about character and work rate...and I know the club were desperate for someone with some pace coming in because of how pedestrian we were last season

Notice he hasn't tried to steal a pen off of Saka or Gyok though like he did Palmer. He has a survival instinct at least.

It genuinely might be some billionaire pervert sh*t where Stan is settling some bets with Boehly. It's a more logical explanation than the manager looking at these players and thinking they're worth what he's paying for them. The only reason it's Madueke and not Mudryk is those angels doing the drug tests.

He won us a few games, scored and setup some key goals. Good enough for his first season and being 2nd choice for his position. Arsenal fans are now addicted to finding a player to rabidly attack and turn toxic

He’s not good enough, fans are allowed to say that without it being labelled toxic or an attack of any sort.

You seem to be happy with the absolute minimum, others might want more from an Arsenal attacker, which is also cool.

I can guarantee you we could've got a player significantly cheaper with at least same output as Noni. Even Ethan would've done a better job than this clown playing hero ball running around the pitch like a five year old kid.

It's just the context around his deal happening.

Not the player's fault, of course, but he'll always be judged against that background if he continues to be barely ok.

For the fee and alleged wages, you reckon Arsenal could've gotten the same output for significantly less money and without all the baggage.

For a sub? He had good moments and good games. Brought something different. This is a team playing martinelli and trossard on the other wing, so he isnt any sort of outlier
