Honestly: You would think he would have shown some progress, but he's still pretty much exactly the same. I would even argue he's actually regressed a bit aswell.

Should be third choice at RW behind Saka and Dowman.

This is my frustration. How do you not improve the one area that you are weak at. He has space and time, but then thinks heavily on the ball and makes a poor decision under the pressure he invited.

I just see a lot in his game that I think he can improve pretty quickly with application. Not being offside when he doesn’t need to be, not running the ball out of play, basic decision making on the ball.

I’ve seen guys like Walcott improve quite a lot by just improving the basics.

He seems pretty applied already though. Seems to be a hard worker who always trains during his time off so…idk man.

I wonder if he’s someone who was destined to be a championship player but has worked extremely hard to get to this level and just can’t squeeze out anything else. There’d be no shame in that.

Finally watched the game (switched it off at 3-0) and thought Noni actually had a descent game. Pushed us up the pitch using his pace for the 2nd goal. Not his biggest fan but was a good outlet and definately carried more of a threat than doku and semenyo during the game

Someone at the club should train shooting techniques with him all day, with his dribbling and a shooting threat he can be a servicable player but as it stands he‘s useless. Can‘t defend, not creative, can’t shoot, lacks stamina, as it stands the man is just a one trick pony that everyone else has figured out. He could be replaced with Downman and you wouldn‘t notice a difference in quality, just that you would invest in the future at least.

Yeah that's what I thought as well. He did an incredible bit of skill with that dragged back heel pass on the first half.

His end product is disappointing - no getting around that - but he does seem to drag opposing teams out of shape with his explosiveness and his OOP workrate is also excellent.

I think the fact that he's from chelsea and took nwaneri's minutes means i have a bias against him but with saka's fitness issues last 2 years i can understand why arteta didn't want to have to rely on a 17 year old while under so much pressure to deliver a major trophy.

Such a performance is encouraging. Better decision making and end product and he would be quite the player. There are games where you just know saka is not going to get the better of his fullback who matches him for speed and strength. A more polished madueke is a great option to bring off the bench if not challenging him for a starting spot. Come on Noni prove your haters wrong!

Yeah the similarities especially in play and hairstyle are striking.

Definately doesn't do himself any favours sometimes..one world cup game particularly comes to mind where he was hooked at half time. Hope he can bring it all together though because there is a player in there and we're stuck with him for now

It's obvious that he has no long term future here. Arteta's just too stubborn to give up on him already. We'll have to suffer through at least one more season of him "trying his best".
