• To all AM members and guests.

For the start of the new season, Arsenal Mania has relaunched the news side of the site. All articles are written by genuine Arsenal fans with no hidden agenda. You can visit the site via the menu at the top of the forum pages or go direct to our homepage

Additionally, Arsenal Mania is now sending all its registered members a bi-weekly Briefing Bulletin containing a digest of news and views from both parts of the site. Some of you may have already received the first edition and those that haven't should do so before the big kick off against United. If you are a guest visitor to this forum then if you join as a member, you will automatically receive the Bulletin.

Please support both these initiatives and help ensure the long term future of our site.

You may discuss this in the thread

Would much rather do this than pay 20M+ for a backup keeper.

The backup keeper for a contender needs to be an experienced goalie who is good enough to start for a mid-to-low table club but would like the opportunity to play for trophies with a bigger club. That's the profile.

Paying big bucks and signing a younger keeper as your backup just indicates a lack of trust in your #1 in the long-term.

Easy nobody offering us what we want for Ramsdale until late days. Ramsdale should consider himself lucky Southampton got desperate or he easily could've stayed
They had a year to find a replacement, even if nobody was willing or pay what we want for ramsdale he would have at the least gone out on loan.

This is so true. Everyone knew as soon as Aaron lost his place. He would be gone by the summer as he is worth too much and earns too much. So for them to find themselves in this position is piss poor

Nonsense, we only knew Ramsdale was really leaving since yesterday, he would’ve stayed if Southampton didn’t come in. Can’t get a replacement in before he is actually gone.

They been talking to clubs for a months. You should have someone lined up. If this deals fall through it’s really sackable offence. It’s amateurish at this level

Arsenal Quotes

I often relive those 49 undefeated matches. I do believe in signs to a certain extent, and as I was born in 1949, I sometimes tell myself it was our destiny to lose the 50th. Those 49 matches are etched within me and within each player: it is something fundamental, a triumph born out of passion.
