Oleksandr Zinchenko: C’est Zinny

Our most intelligent player on the pitch. Knows exactly where to be and where to deliver to build up.

Good. Can’t stand his saviour act. We’ll lose against City if he starts at LB as well. Pep knows he’s the weak link.

I said it before but he's somehow our most composed yet least composed player on the pitch.

I’m not watching if he’s up against Doku. Tomiyasu or Kiwior have to start.

Think without Rodri we have a good chance to dominate the ball and Zinny will help with that. Need big Gabby and Rice to support the left-side when City are on it.

Has he ever been benched when completely fit? He’s basically one of the first names on the team sheet next to Saka, Jesus, Saliba.

Good performance.

Towards the end of the first half there were 2 challenges in succession that he actually bottled out of. Kind of annoyed me tbh.

He's great at the inverted stuff and we just have to accept his defensive frailties I guess.

Against top, top opposition I think we get found out a bit with it though.

Still, really good player.

I’d play him as a midfielder over Vieira or Havertz on Sunday. I know he hasn’t done it here but I think a Zinchenko/Havertz pairing is asking for trouble.

Tomiyasu/Zinchenko is the best balance.

Inverted fullbacks doesn't work in Europe, where was Zinchenko for Wahi's goal?

Pep has learned from this mistake and fielded defenders who can defend, when will Legohead?

They were targeting that side all game. This gimmick of Zinchenko playing inverted is terrible.

He’s a ball hogging clown anyway.

Targeted again defensively and a poor game overall from him I think. Gave the ball away so much.

Was always gonna be targeted in Europe. Mid table teams in the pl are tactically clueless. A left back who is not in position most of the time dragging your cb to help him. Seville will destroy this

Why not playing him in the LCM position? I still don't get how it does not cross Arteta's mind.

I still don't understand why people hate him. He is not good defensively, but without him our attacking line sucks.

You didn't need inverted fullbacks back in the day, because the best central midfielders were good enough to control midfields without any help.

He's a quality player, but sometimes I do miss just seeing Tierney flying around the outside of his man and whipping a cross in.

The way he gets caught on the ball when he has a bit more time, space and passing options in defence what do you think happens to him further up the pitch when there is even less time and space?

Arteta has him in his best position.

You don’t understand why people don’t like a defender who can’t defend?
I understand. But I don't understand why people don't see his other roles. Without him there is no forward pass. Just going from right to left like prime Wenger's **** show

His other role means nothing. The damage he does defensively is bigger than anything he does offensively. And it’s Arteta problem he has been unable to create a ball playing midfield without a defender playmaking for them and have Ødegaard and Havertz very high up

Given the situation and players we have, do you want Arsenal play with or without him? For me the answer is clear! Without him we can't do **** and produce goal
