Giroud is a player we need to keep, provided all parties understand that it would be as a plan b/substitution option. If he wants to start games and be accommodated, then pair him up with a mobile striker, in a two man upfront scenario.

Bringing back pace, skill, finishing and two footedness to our center forward role is absolutely critical if we are serious about our football, in my opinion. And Giroud is not that.

I do also think that Giroud isnt looking to go anywhere. Arsenal remains his best chance at the big prizes and he is probably about to sign his last major contract now. He just needs to understand that he cannot be the main striker anymore.

To be fair he wasn't even starting last season with our current options.

If he leaves then we have Lucas and Welbeck/Walcott/Alexis who can play up top.

Wenger will probably see that as decent enough options. Pretty sure he'd bring someone in but he would let Giroud go first either way imo

We came 5th using him as a plan B and have never got anywhere near a title with him... he won't stay as a plan B with a World Cup year coming up. It's not viable at all.

What makes me more excited then giroud leaving is the fact that Wenger would never let his lover go if he wasn't bringing someone else in

To be fair, Giroud does provide us with something different when he comes off the bench. Look at the games against Man Utd (A), Sunderland (A) and Chelsea in the cup final he came on and straight away he rescued the game by either providing a goal or a crucial assist.

We need Welbeck to start doing this as at the moment Giroud provides us with a lot more than Welbeck.

If West Ham are serious about him, I want us to try and get 30M for him considering Bolasie went for a similar fee.

Being WC year he'll want to be a bonafide starter and he won't get that with us. We'll sell for a hefty profit and I'm totally fine with that. He was a solid servant for the Club but he's not what I want to see from our attack.

Something different is ok and I dont think anyone on this forum cannot say he has had his moments. However he will never challenge sanchez/laca for a starting role. Giroud has never been challenged, maybe thats why he has not gone next level.

Positive move for us and him.

To win the title which is the aim, you need a squad not only 11 players.

You can't doubt Giroud in terms of being a super sub, he's come off the bench and saved us in many games last season similar to like when Dzeko was at Man City.

Fair enough, Giroud may not be a starter but he's a better option off the bench than Welbeck.

It would be really silly to sell him now when he finally found the perfect sub :(

I get that he wants to start but he just signed a new contract this year so he'll have to suck it up.

Facts dont lie

We finished 5th last season

John terry was still a virgin when we won the league

Giroud saved us from what last season? He in fact probably screwed us over as europa will cripple a title bid. Mid table and no europa we couldve done a chelsea.

You can ping giroud facts at me all day but none of them = the epl title
