27th September 2023.

On this day happened last year. Arsenal were away to Brentford, in a League Cup tie. The Gunners were wearing the (loved or hated) hi - viz colour away kit.

Arsenal went onto win this match 1 - 0. Emile Smith Rowe was making his 100th appearance for Arsenal.
The Brentford fans, now watching the Bees play at a New Stadium, no longer had the pubs on each corner of the ground to go to. Something that their previous ground Griffin Park had.

20th November 1984.

As it's my Birthday today, I thought I would see what other Arsenal players share the date.
Happy Birthday to ex Arsenal player, Justin Hoyte. 🟥⬜ (I was Born in 1974).

Not very Arsenal-related, but on this day back in 2022, two years ago, possibly the greatest match, arguably the biggest emotional rollercoaster of a football match, happened.

The Qatar 2022 World Cup final between Argentina and France was the stuff of dreams, and I still recall the emotions until the last penalty kick.

Even here on A-M it was possibly one of the most epic days, where users were sharply split between Argentina supporters and those of France.

You had @Trilly supporting both nations, @Riou doing his usual stuff about nostalgia and posting cat pictures, @jones and @razörist still enthusiastic from Morocco going to the semis, @GDeep™ complaining that it was the worst world cup ever; @A_G and @Blood on the Tracks arguing over Kane's penalty failure against France; @Rex Stone jubilant over England getting knocked out, @Batman hating on Messi, @MaraDon hating on Mbappe, @Rasmi hating on both; and then finally @Farzad hating on Arteta and FIFA for the Jesus injury.

And then after the final whistle, you had so many emotions of happiness and anger for secondary stuff like Messi's robe when lifting the trophy, Nusret drip and clout on the field, Elon in the stadium, and so many other things.

The Final thread was one of the A-M Classics.

Incredible feat by Messi; pretty much ended GOAT debate that day. Also a terrible tournament for Arsenal as Jesus was playing better than he had ever played and we were clicking in attack, after the injury he has never been productive since. Sad but his golden age was that 3 months before WC

France 1998-2000 is the best ever French team with the World Cup and Euros win in a row, LOVED that Zidane era side featuring like half the Arsenal team from our golden era too.

Couldn't be having Giroud and Greizmann (who are both fine players, but just no) winning back to back World Cups and surpassing them...so thank you Emi Martinez!

Tbf, Giroud is their best goalscorer in history, so credit where it's due
