City these days are all about value for money as opposed to the best player available. Paqueta might have represented the best value for money option for them if he played his cards right. With him off the table now all bets are off… (all puns intended)

Agreed but I think that sort of policy is quite safe when you have KDB, Bernardo, Rodri etc all still performing consistently, so those value money signings can be sprinkled on top of the quality they’ve already got. I feel this summer is going to be a big one for them as the gap is narrowing and something tells me that Pep knows those guys can’t be relied upon for another long campaign. He’s itching to make a 100m signing as we saw with the Rice saga last summer but the question is who?
