Nothing Wrong With Me
John Terry, Rio Ferdinand and many more were fully established centre backs before 24. Age isn't important. Quality is.

Not to mention one of the best Arsenal & England Captains ever!

Well he did play in a team that ended up getting relegated and nothing resembling any sort of defensive security or scructure until the last 4, 5 games of the season. Of course you're going to look a bit uncomfortable, but having seen all of his games and a good portion in the actual flesh, the boy has done really well under such circumstances and would've been probably even more solid in a settled defence.

And don't think I'm overhyping him because he plays for VfB. That central defense is actually EL level. The problem was that almost everyone else was 2. Bundesliga level.
Well, you've obviously had a better and closer look as well have a much better understanding of his situation so I'm not gonna challenge that. Its hard to judge defenders on youtube clips also though you can certainly use imagination and memory to an extent.

Don't be disappointed but I'm not going to put too much into your evalaution of Saliba based on a youtube video.

Going by your description, though, he seems just like Kabak, so I don't really get how you're so sure Saliba will definitely be an instant upgrade while Kabak will not. If there's anything to go by your online scouting, it's that Kabak is the better option as they seem alike but he's way cheaper.

I don't think they are alike. Saliba is a duel specialist who can recover. Probably not as good in the air, but more agile and it is very unlikely you will get past him. If you do he is getting back.

Kabak is dominant in the air, but he isn't going to hunt you down after you have beaten him. Saliba and Anderson seems like the best way to go.

Anderson/sen doesn't look very good to me tbh. At least not PL top 6 material. I think he'll get exposed.

Looks very similar to Deligt to me.
Really? He seems nothing like that to me. He is incredibly slow and heavy legged. His passing long range is accurate but takes an age to lift his feet and the passes take an age to get to the players. I get the idea he'd get exposed in the PL.

I'm not so sure. You have to remember that Deligt is a 80 million pound defender who also struggled to deal with Llorente. Yes he is faster than Anderson, but I wouldn't call him quick.

I would say pace can be offset if you have a fast centre back partner and fast full backs.

Yeah but he seems very immobile. I mean even in his tackles. He seems like he is just about to collapse under his own weight and challenges seem a bit late. Now imagine doing that in the PL. He'd get skinned alive and concede fouls all the time. Getting the ball moving as well could be troubling regardless of his accuracy.

There it is, a title for Stuttgart!

Again, seriously, brilliant young defender oozing of talent on the market for 15m. That vid also just brought back memories how good of a dribbler and ball carrier he is for a CB. In one game he decided to play every position; he was defending, hustling in midfield, carrying the ball up pitch and even getting goals. Honestly, you've got to be a very special kind of stupid if you decide against this guy for 15m and go for a similarly rated guy the same age but for almost double the price. Though, apparently the last word hasn't been spoken yet about his future and there remains a small chance he'll even stay. I'd definitely be happiest if that happens, but if he leaves - which I do think is the likeliest possibility -, I'd rather have him join Arsenal than any other club.

Imo, the likeliest scenario is that he'll leave Stuttgart because of 2. Bundesliga, but that he won't immediately join a big international club. With his 15m release clause he's an attractive target for domestic EL and EL aspiring midtable clubs like Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, Bremen, Frankfurt, Hoffenheim and Gladbach, and I think that's the route he'll go.
From a sensible standpoint it makes sense to stay in the league you just joined 6 months ago, where you immediately settled in and performed well, where the other clubs really know you, where you just got Rookie of the Season - you just take the next step by going from a relegated team to an EL (aspiring) team, which is in turn possible because of the clause.

If he doesn't come to Arsenal, I'd like to see him stay. But surely all the Bundesliga clubs you mentioned (and more) will be hot on his trail at that price. They would be crazy not to be. If he moves within Germany, I'd like to see him go to Werder Bremen since I've liked them ever since the days when Mertesacker and Özil were there. Will be interesting to keep an eye on the situation.

Werder can't pay 15m for a CB.
We already paid around 10m for Füllkrug and Friedl and we need a Kruse replacement, because he left us for free.

I read somewhere that Liverpool was considering Kruse as a replacement for Sturridge. Maybe Bremen could sign Sturridge in a sort of swap. Or Welbeck! :p
