Never heard of the geezer, guessing this is the type of player we'll be after with no CL though.

First opinion is that his name doesn't sound like a future great.

Anyone seen him? Those highlights look ****ing immense, looks like my type of player.
Word on the street is that he's been one of Serie A's most promising talents this season. If he really is worth it, and it sounds like he might be, I'm sure helmet boy will make himself useful and put in a good word.

Like the look of this guy - really good scoring record for the Czech youth teams and his per-90 numbers in Serie A are impressive as well. Seems to be the sort of tall, fast, technical striker Arsène has coveted in the past with RvP and Draxler/Morata. The link to us makes sense and (more importantly) appears fairly credible, so this may be one to watch...

Serie A's 12th man of the year: Sampdoria striker Patrik Schick

Serie A is undergoing a revolution. An increasing influx of talented youngsters has seen many clubs in the division benefit and Patrik Schick is just one example; the 21-year-old is Sampdoria’s revelation. Scouted and signed from the Czech first division Schick has, since the beginning of his career, only looked for advancement. From a loan spell at a midtable team in his home country to the blue and white side of Genoa, Schick has never let an environment or situation change his game.

Sampdoria fans had to wait until October to see his name on the scoreboard but his consolation at the Juventus stadium was not out of the ordinary. Schick had been given limited opportunities and had just proven his worth to the thousands of fans in attendance. His self confidence was boosted and his output saw an upturn towards the turn of the year; goals against Torino, Lazio and away at Chievo came in a row whilst the new year saw him score against Roma, Pescara, Bologna and assist against Napoli.

Remarkably Patrik Schick has only completed 90 minutes in Serie A on three occasions with all of his goal contributions, nine goals and two assists, coming as a substitute. This begs the question why he is not trusted to start more games but perhaps Marco Giampaolo is protecting the future of the club. He did make a rare start against Cagliari in the Coppa Italia, tucking away two goals and displaying both his collectedness and collectiveness. The Czech international possesses composure beyond his years, his instinctive movement and controlled finishing a recipe for goals.

His startling mixture of height, Schick stands at 6’2”, and technique exuberates a rare type of elegance. The position as second striker is perfect for Schick who is able to effortlessly float between the lines of defence and midfield whilst often drifting to the wide right so he can cut back on to his accomplished left foot. This creates space for himself although its not needed, his first touch is always progressive and his dribbling almost unrivalled in Serie A. Schick’s complete confidence in his ability means he is never in a rush but his pace is deceptive. His link up play is intelligent and he adds a certain tenacity and bite to what is already a special talent.

Patrik Schick’s eagerness to get into dangerous positions and help Sampdoria shows in the statistics. On loan at FC Bohemians Prag 1905 last season he managed seven goals and one assist in 2015 minutes, this season he has more goals and more assists in less than half the game time. Right from the start Schick has sought to improve and right now seems to be in the best place to do so but his next step may be just around the corner.

The 50 best young footballers in Italy

La vie c’est fantastique, quando segna Patrik Schick.” (“Life is wonderful, when Patrik Schick scores.”) The Sampdoria forward may not wish to copyright a slogan once used as a goal celebration by Lichtenstein’s Mario Frick, but Schick’s promising start to life in Serie A would entitle him to do so.

The 20-year-old was signed from Sparta Prague last summer for £3.4m. Since arriving at the Blucerchiati, he has scored six goals in 15 appearances, which is all the more impressive when you consider that he has only played a full 90 minutes once.

When he does feature, the Czech international is often deployed as a seconda punta by Samp boss Marco Giampaolo. This suits Schick, allowing him to float between the lines of defence and midfield. He is also happy to drift out wide, especially to the right, where he can cut inside and unleash shots with his devilish left foot. With a languid yet graceful poise, he feints and shimmies past opponents. His height – 6ft 1in – ensures he also carries a substantial aerial threat. Expect to see plenty more from Schick in the coming months.

11 Of The Biggest Talents In Czech Football

A talented a much-hyped forward who was finding playing time at Sparta Prague hard to come by, Patrik Schick was given the chance to head across town to Bohemians 1905 to get some first-team football. Four goals in fifteen league games followed, as too did an outstanding performance for the Czech Under-21s against Belgium.

2016
Outstanding.

Schick started 2016 as a promising yet gangly centre-forward who was, quite literally, experiencing some growing pains. Seemingly uneasy with his imposing frame, he failed to bully defenders as often as a 6′ 2″ striker should. However, fast forward twelve months and he’s been capped by the Czech Republic at senior level, moved to Sampdoria for a fee rumoured to be in the region of £3.5m, and ended the year bagging five goals in five games.

The past year has been a real ‘coming of age’ story and the scary thing is that we are still no closer to seeing Schick realise his full potential.

Last season, as has been so often the case at Ďolíček, Bohemians were a functional side set up to get the most out of a handful of flair players that could change a game at a moment’s notice. Primarily, the creators in chief were the two Latin American wingers, Rafael Acosta and Jhon Mosquera. But as the campaign wore on, Schick became the focal point of the side and as he improved, so too did Bohemians.

By this point, he had grown comfortable with his height and physicality yet was also capable of dropping a shoulder and displaying a quick turn of pace that made people nearly twice his age look foolish. And whilst he was progressing domestically in green and white, he was emerging to be the real star of an impressive Czech Under-21 side as he netted ten times in nine qualifying games, sending Vítězslav Lavička’s team through to this summer’s championships ahead of the highly-rated Belgians.

And then the summer happened.

In truth, if Václav Kadlec and Matěj Vydra had been fully fit and playing regularly, Schick would not have received what many believed to be a token call-up for Pavel Vrba’s pre-Euro training camp. However, he took the chance to impress with both hands, trained well and scored on his senior international debut in a friendly against Malta. But despite his performance, his aptitude in training and the will of people back home, Vrba opted not to take the young striker to France.

By now, Schick had become a favourite of the Czech daily sports newspapers. Roma and other Serie A clubs were keeping tabs and columnists wondered quite how he would fit in at Letna, given that Sparta Prague could (at the time) call upon the services David Lafata, Lukáš Juliš, Kehinde Fatai, Matěj Pulkrab and Josef Šural to play up front. According to statements and speculation, a loan move to a divisional rival seemed out of the question and for a number of weeks, Schick looked like he might, inadvertently, end up in purgatory if no foreign suitor came forward.

Ultimately, Sampdoria offered a couple of million Euros for his services and Schick headed to Genoa.

Any fears that Schick might follow in the footsteps of Josef Hušbauer and have a miserable excursion in Italy were soon put to bed. Thrown straight into I Blucerchiati’s first-team squad, he made a positive impact in the preseason Trofeo Joan Gamper tie against Barcelona (making Lionel Messi look foolish in the process), made his full debut in a cup tie against Bassano Virtus, and followed that up with his Serie A bow a week later when he came off the bench in a 1-0 victory over Empoli.

The 20-year-old Czech remained in Sampdoria’s first-team picture and although he was primarily used as a substitute, he would record six goals during his first six months in Italy, with five of them coming during a blistering three-week spell towards the end of the calendar year.

He looks good and comfortable on the ball but I can't say I have watched him play. I follow the serie A but never watch Sampdoria this season but he looks a mixture of a certain RVP and Lawadoski and would be a good acquisition and I feel we can get him because if he went to Sp**s he would have to play second fiddle to Kane and Sun but at Arsenal he would be certainly guaranteed first team action.

Buon Giocatore (Good player) he is one of few talent players raised in Serie A this season like Milinkovic Savic (Lazio), Fofana (Udinese), Pellegrini (Sassuolo) and Jankto (Udinese). if they do keep their performance up they'll be really top players.

Savvy stuff from the Iron Schick's agent there. "Did you meet Arsenal and Tottenham?" "He's a Samp player". Evaded that well.

He said the reports are nonsense, why did you just ignore that bit

I'm not saying he must be telling the truth, but I am more skeptical now. What did he have to lose to say there is interest for his player?
