It's strange how opposition supporters like to take the mickey out of Liverpool for their minutes of silence and the seemingly constant Hillsborough tributes when living, breathing young men and women died that day. I don't know how much truth there is in stories about Manc chants mocking Hillsborough but - if true - things have gone too far. We are all human beings first, and our shared humanity should transcend any differences we may have as football fans. Football is pointless next to the loss of a loved one. Hillsborough was a very real modern-day tragedy. Condolences and best wishes to those affected.

Brilliant read, Alonso. I wasn't alive at the time, but the events were very tragic, and changed the face of spectating football for ever.
