Fingers crossed for this to happen. The right flank needs a quality player to rotate with Saka for a breath. There is a hectic match schedule ahead because of WC.

Hwang's also been linked with a move to Leeds, so we'll have to see how that plays out since it's unlikely Wolves sell both this window.

Little bit from Ornstein this morning

Arsenal had hoped to bring in Pedro Neto following Pepe’s departure but the move is now looking highly improbable, with Wolverhampton Wanderers reluctant to sell this summer and the level of fee that might persuade them otherwise looking unrealistic for Mikel Arteta’s side.

I can understand, no way, we will pay more than £50m for him

Understandable but really hoping this is a smokescreen for someone else

Just hoping they don't think "wait until next summer". His price isn't going to get any lower unless he's completely ****. If anything it's more likely to get higher.

The only reason not paying more than £50m for Neto is that Arteta and Edu have alternative(s) of equal quality in that position. Spending 10m-15m more in order to secure CL qualification next season is not a sin.

Last season they spent 30M on Ramsdale and 50M on Ben. To their surprise, the team was in the race of CL qualification until the last matchday. Not many could have predicted that. This season is very different. The team have to 'at least' get the CL qualification and win a trophy or two. Otherwise, it would be difficult to persuade Saka and Saliba to renew contracts.

Another reason is that Neto just missed 295 days because of a bad injury and hasn't really yet came back on the same level. No way such a player is worth a humongous fee.

Plus we can't know how much Wolves want for a player with 5 years in contract. Neto really messed up by signing that contract.

I'm struggling to find any real convincing argument for why Neto would be a better buy than Pino. Anyone got one?
