Praying for him but it's not looking good at all. Say what you want but he was football's first real superstar and the impact he made as a teenager for his country and apart of 3 world cup wins is ridiculous. Will remain one of footballs true icons.

There's nothing to say other than it's devastating. Everyone thinks about his impact on football which of course was immense but I also think about the impact of the best player in the world and the first global star of the World's game being a young charismatic black man in the late 50's into the 60's and how that helped the civil rights movement. I wonder how many people watched this man be such a brilliant ambassador of the sport we all love, saw his joy, his passion, his skill and maybe abandoned some biases that they may have held before and moved forward in life as more tolerant and inclusive people. I think that's every bit as important as his extraordinary on the pitch legacy.

League is very weak
He’s had a good innings to be fair, hopefully he’s not in too much pain right now.

My parents had a video of all of the Brazil World Cups Pele played in. First time I saw Garrincha and Pele play. And I remember the cries of Jairzinho from the commentators. Pele was ridiculous.

He made me fall in love with the game. I was maybe 8 or 9 when I saw this. Also because of those erectile dysfunction/ Viagra ads he did, I feel I must mention I fell asleep watching the Brazil video. And unbeknown to me, someone had recorded a Blue movie at the end of the Brazil video. So I woke up to images (and sounds) I will never forget. Let's just say that tape became even more of a favourite.

Pele, the man who introduced me to both football and women. What a man!

Pele apparently passed away.

Not confirmed yet, but there's already videos floating around of structurs being put in place for a wake.
It seems confirmed now (Associated Press). How will this be handled in Brazil? and what does it mean for Brazilians?
