Wasn't limited to united though.

I believe there is a banner up at a certain stadium, in North London, with this very phrase on it...
Well, yeah, that's what I alluded to, but like some numb nuts internet ninja, you took that part out of the quote to make a point.

I remember when City first started spending big without success, the taunts from Utd were 'You can't buy class'.... Funny, 'class' doesn't matter as much now... All Utd fans are concerned about is City's success and how they're getting it.

This is football fan stuff though. This kind of moving of the goalposts isn't exclusive to bitter, hypocritical Utd fans.

Some of you lot are having a laugh with this absolute dross being said as well.

Wenger had 3 of the top 10, maybe even top 5 players to ever play in this league and some people are still crying about money. Get a grip.

The more crap that gets said about money the less praise Wenger actually receives for good scouting and good coaching in his first few years.

We ought to ban anyone who mentions Leicester as an example of a team that can win against the money.

It's only happened once since the new money arrived, and in fact only once in Leicester's entire 140 yr history.

Crazy talk . They weren't 5000:1 for nothing.

Basic statistics needs to be emphasized more in schools. The fact that only one team has ever won it on the cheap is the exception that proves the rule. If a team win with no money wins in only 1 out of 25 premier league seasons, that means that there is only a 4% chance of winning with no money! (PS: Blackburn '95 had lots of money behind them, they don't count)

 Elite

But a good manager can beat those stats, didn't you know.

Clever thread title change :D

Generally poor performance today from us but Palace have to take a lot of credit for that.

Non-penalty, so justice it was saved. Some of the tackles were an absolute disgrace, particularly Puncheon's on KdB.

It’s easy to put City’s dominance down to money spent, but I think Pep deserves some credit for achieving a good balance. They’ve conceded the fewest goals whilst scoring a ton themselves. It’s great when offensively minded teams that play entertaining soccer show a good defensive structure. Much better on the eyes than typical Mourinho teams that have an excellent defensive record but tend to be very conservative offensively. Having said that, for the amount of money being spent, Pep will be judged by how he does against the elite of Europe in the CL.
