Berta and Arsenal found a workaround: a loan in which both Arsenal and Leverkusen hold the option to trigger a permanent deal. If Arsenal fail to activate it, Leverkusen can do so, forcing a compulsory purchase. The only way a permanent deal doesn’t happen is in the unlikely event neither club want it. The same arrangement was made for Kiwior’s move to Porto.

From gunnerblog.

So it's not based on any conditions. Either arsenal or Leverkusen can trigger it. So it's basically done permanently.

With how Calafiori performing nope he won't but we can rotate between both specially when we got 3 games a week we can also afford to let Gabriel rest and start one of them as CB in some games
the chance for hincapie get enough minute play then he can become 2nd option like rotate with big gabi and rotate with calafiori

so not only rotate with calafiori at left back

Very happy to have signed another talented left-footed CB called [insert name]. He will bolster our defence and provide good cover for Gabriel. Hopefully he can compete with [insert current starting left back] and make that position his own.

"So Riou what would you like to say to our 100th centre back/full back hybrid since we last won a trophy?"

Had to laugh at Arseblog’s description of Piero’s priorities on his return from international duty…

“It was a good night for Ecuador though, as they beat Argentina 1-0 with Piero Hincapie playing the full 90 of what seems to have been an eventful game that saw both sides finish with 10 men. He’ll now return to London, and it’ll be interesting to see if he makes the squad for Saturday’s game. He only arrived on deadline day before flying off on international duty, so he’s probably got lots to sort out. Such as:

  • Somewhere to live
  • All his stuff
  • His collection of early edition Spiderman comics
  • Steve, his chinchilla”

Totally forgot we signed this guy.

He’s a great player but the only way he makes sense is if Arteta intentionally starts rotating and not waiting for one to get injured first, which will be great.

Arsenal Quotes

Football is a bit like elections. Before it's unpredictable. After it's unexplainable... But there's an opportunity for us to make it unforgettable.
