Probably based on opponent. Gabriel probably more suited to this game because he's quicker and Fulham pose a counter-attacking threat.

Gabriel likely starting to cover for Xhaka's LB position, seeing Granit is slow on the turn. Strange that Cedric is not starting tho, must be carrying a knock or something.

Gabriel likely starting to cover for Xhaka's LB position, seeing Granit is slow on the turn. Strange that Cedric is not starting tho, must be carrying a knock or something.

Other possibilities are that he wants to test the Granit solution against more pacy wingers in a nothing game. (Which may be the reason he brought Gabriel in) Wouldn't be surprised if we saw an early Cedric/Elneny sub if it doesn't work out.

This is why we desperately need another quality CM (preferably Bissouma). Ceballos/Elneny is relegation quality.
