Auba Ödegaard again out for tomorrow game. Ödegaard back to training next week

Positive news that Tierney will be back in 3 weeks. So if we make it to final he'll be available.
Thought Teta said he was out for the season?

Lego man lying again ffs.

Martinelli definitely is a must for tomorrow. I would like ESR to shine in some matches where Saka is given a rest, but the problem is that might mean Pepe on RW rather than LW, for which I'm undecided as to how consistently he can perform yet, but it still would be a combination (Martinelli, ESR, Pepe, Laca) on the attacking end more than capable of beating Fulham.

A lot of people are acting like getting into the EL is 'pretty decent' but the EC is embarrassing, but I don't see that at all - they're basically exactly the same thing.

Just wait until we're playing FC Vaduz at their 7000 capacity stadium in Liechtenstein and tell me that

Officially the League Cup Winners will be England's entrants in the Europa Conference League

So City or Sp**s will qualify.
However, if the winner qualifies for Europe via another path, the spot will go to the side finishing in the highest Premier League spot that isn't already a Champions League or Europa League spot: sixth place.

BUT...winning the FA Cup still leads to a Europa League place – if the winners have already qualified for Europe via the league - and Southampton aren't winning the Cup this season - so then sixth place becomes another Europa League spot, and seventh place becomes the Europa Conference League spot.

We still have to take PL games seriously though.
There is St. Totteringham's Day and the chance that Leicester, West Ham, or more probably Sp**s will implode.

6th place has to be the target, we're 7 points off, with 7 games to play.
7th place is the minimum requirement in the League if we fail to win the Europa League, and we really have to strive to achieve that placing.

Arsenal belong in Europe.

What if 7th was a qualifying place but it was us and we won the Europa League... would that mean 8th got into the Europa Conference League?

Even if Fulham score first, as soon as they've conceded in recent weeks they fall apart.

Looks a pretty comfortable win for me.

Do we need to rest people for this?

Not like the game on Thursday was an energy sapper for our players, it was over after like 20 mins...plus we have like a weeks break before our next game.

Need to start closing the gap to the teams above us, chance to bring Saint Totteringham's Day back!

Hope for a decent sized win to keep the confidence up.

Explain to me then which are the three teams who go into the Europa league then if the winners of the League and FA Cups are already in the CL or in the EL by league position.
That's an odd question since there are only two spots for EL: 5th place and the FA Cup winner.

But on second thought there is actually one scenario where 7th place will give EL and that is if Chelsea win CL while finishing 5th or 6th, AND the FA cup winner is in the PL top 5. Then 6th and 7th will give EL.

What if 7th was a qualifying place but it was us and we won the Europa League... would that mean 8th got into the Europa Conference League?
No, there can be a maximum of 7 English teams in all European competitions.

Looking at the table, arsenal only stand a chance by winning the europa.

England gets 4 qualifiers for the Champions League

Let's say that's Man City, Man United, West Ham and Liverpool

Plus an additional berth for UEFA Champions League title holders ( Chelsea )
Plus an additional berth for UEFA Europa League title holders ( Arsenal )

England also gets 2 qualifiers for the Europa League

The Cup Winners ( Leicester City )
The next qualifiers would be, in theory, the 5th placed team, but let's say that Chelsea, Arsenal and Leicester are in 5th, 6th and 7th place in the League then 8th would get Europa League place ( Everton ), and then Sp**s, in a glorious 9th place, would get qualification for the European Conference League.

I think.

Angry & Miserable
This whole Europe Conference League thing is such a dumb idea.

The idea behind it should be to have a European competition for smaller leagues that smaller teams actually have a chance to win - end up with a Celtic-Molde final or whatever.

But as soon as you're putting the 6th-7th place team from England/Spain/Italy/Germany into the competition, you've basically just pointlessly created two identical Europa leagues because the difference between the 5th and 6th place team in all of those leagues is non-existent. And those teams will batter the Conference competition the same way they currently batter the EL. And all that does is further devalue the prestige of winning the EL.
Explain the last sentence please.
