Another joke of a pass map.
The plan was to play Saka in and it almost worked. However there was no back up plan or a stable shape to attack if the bus is parked.
Another joke of a pass map.
That pass cut right through us. Xhaka let Under get away from him and Gabriel was left with Under and Vardy to deal with because Mustafi was missing. Not really, he'd come in and be our best midfielder sure people would appreciate that.
Hard to appreciate bums like Xhaka and Lacazette, not everyone cuts these players as much slack as you do.
Top posting. He’s not an expert. It literally is his first try at it.
Secondly your anti Wenger sentiments are so obvious it prevents you from being objective in any discussion.
Arteta has been poor in preparing and organizing our attack. That is a fact. He has been good with regards to defensive structure and getting players to work collectively. At least I can call it for what it is. You should try it too it’s called being objective.
He needs to find a good balance. He is way to cautious.
Arteta's tactics are incredibly complexed, and they do often work. For example in the first half the tactic shown via the passing map worked, we got in, should've taken the lead. Were robbed of the lead in fact.
However Rodgers isn't stupid and in the second half they nullified the threat and like @kash2 says there was no backup plan. We would've won that game if Laca's goal rightly stood, but alas, it didn't.
Anyone who only saw the second half would've seen the nullifying phase of the game, where we didn't have a second plan. But the initial plan worked and we should've won that game based on that.
The knives are out I see.
The ruled out goal was from a corner. The only decent chance we created from open play was the one Lacazette missed. Yeah we managed to get Saka and Tierney in behind with a few diagonal balls but most of that came to nothing.
Vardy to Gabriel on the goal ffs...
I've posted exactly same above. Criminal blaming Gabriel. He was trying to clean up Xhaka and Mustafi's sh!t.Did you see gabriel begging mustafi to mark the space just a second before the long ball was made? then he rushed to close the immediate danger in cengiz while trusting his partner will be in the right position to block the cross.
But mustafi was mustafi and dreamt about scoring a bicycle kick in the CL final instead of positioning himself for the worst case scenario.
I think with a better CB partner whos better at reading the game we dont concede this goal, Vardy was criminally under marked that made cengiz decision to pass to him very easy... if he was slightly marked, not fully, just slightly under pressure and threat ( in the end its vardy, few CB's in the world can catch him up at full speed, but a better position mightve be closer to him on the chase) then maybe cengiz wouldnt pass it as easily and think about shooting or passing, and that extra second we forced him to consider whats better will let gabriel close him down even more....
ITs these small things that people usually miss... claiming this goal is on gabriel is not understanding football imo.
Exactly. Partey, Xhaka and Ceballos offers no creativity. Dropping one of them and playing Willian or saka there will help big time. One positive we can take from this is Arteta is going with the 433, a very positive move forward and what Partey was signed for.
LenoPartey and Xhaka more at the base with Saka floating between the lines. This needs to be the set team going forward. Can't keep chopping and changing just keep it simple. Willian from the left and Pepe from the right, the most balanced team. Our best attacker/striker up front in the position he should be in.
Bellerin - Saliba - Gabriel - Tierney
Ceballos
Partey - Saka
Pepe - Auba - Willian
Yeah, shame we only know how to score goals from set-piecesAgain most pundits who not even like us they don't know why laca goal was disallowed. That could changed the game forced Leicester to go more offensive.
