Either way, the linesman didn't raise the flag for the initial play, but only upon Mane putting the ball in the net. I just consider it payback for when Ramsey was wrongly called offside on what should have been the game-winner in a 0-0 draw against Liverpool in August 2015.

Don't understand this argument to be fair. He's hardly going to raise his flag and cause confusion when Salah (or was it Firmino) was clearly onside.

The argument being set forth by some was that Mane was offside on the initial play. If you believe he interfered with play, then you would view an offside ruling on the initial play as correct. But since the linesman didn't raise his flag immediately, he obviously didn't think Mane interfered with the original play. By calling offside when he put the ball in the net, he was ruling the second play offside, not the first. If Mane had been deemed to be interfering with play on the first play, it would not have caused confusion because he simply would have been offside, no matter what anyone else was doing.

Is there actually a single person out there that didn't acknowledge the club had gone stale and needed a fresh start? The players and fans are reinvigorated. Let's hope the new boss builds it up into something beautiful
Everybody knew the club needed a fresh start.

But not everybody knew that Wenger had been a fantastic manager, and his record was outstanding for his spend.

Interesting analysis on MNF: Carragher saying that Mustafi was more at fault than anyone for their goal. Left the space open for Mane to attack and then doesn’t do enough to block the cross.

Also thinks Van Dijk / TAA switched off for our goal.

“The little details that make a difference at this level.”

It was also payback for the Sterling goal last year, when Silva swung a leg at the ball in an offside position. He was clearly putting Cech off, but he was deemed not to be interfering with play, and the goal stood.

A lot of these decisions have gone against us in recent years, so we’re overdue a few going our way. Don’t feel sorry for Liverpool in the least.

Good 10 minute chat on the game at the start of the podcast here. Odd to hear us get so much praise.

Don't know who the lady was but odd to mention Liverpool could score 3-4 goals in one period and then fail to mention all the chances we had to score.

Also odd to hear Sasha think that Guendouzi was a starter? Xhaka and Torreira are clearly the first choice CM duo.

I’m constantly disappointed by so-called ‘analysis’ by pundits. Sometimes, for example, Neville can pick some nuance out. But the way they talk most of the timeyou’d think they’d not watched the same game, and sometimes they talk like they haven’t watch a football match is a long time.
If commentary on anything else was so banal and full of cliches no-one would watch it and there’d be serious competition.

Who the hell listens to "pundits"? Rarely you would find one that is not either biased or living in the past.
Loving this season so far, we are progressively improving, and Liverpool's match was our best performance of the season imo.

Red Star Belgrade tonk Liverpool 2:0 in champions league.

I do wonder if the intensity of this top 6 battle is effecting the English teams in Europe, none of them have been great so far. The competition at the top of the Premiership is unique and brutal.
