Mate, we've never been out of the top 6 for 25 years, we're now 10th, so **** off with your Wenger Out sh!t, he's been gone 2 years.

Who do you think got us to this point? Left the failing squad in shambles. We dropped out of the top 4 with him in charge after losing the league to Leicester.

Wenger had money to spend but he was either afraid to or spent it poorly. Our transfer policy has been dreadful since Dean left.
Wenger was comfortably outspent by all our rivals at the time and by teams below us.

When he was given some money the damage was done and our squad had deteriorated to what it was until last season - a Europa League squad.

Wenger repeatedly said he had money to spend. The fact that he didn’t is down to his fear of failure.

I hope Lampard doesn't realise before the cup final that if you just give us the ball and defend in two banks of four we have literally no way to hurt you haha.

He didn't have money to spend. He lied. He was covering for the board. That was my point that Arteta needs to come clean with what support he is given or not given.

If you take Özil out of the equation, Arsenal's most creative midfielder is 19 and currently playing for Huddersfield. That's a pickle.

What about all those consecutive years spent in the top 4? Where do you think that money went? We’re currently crying out to make the top 4 for one season just for the revenue.

A win probably wouldn`t have given us EL-football but I found this performance infurating. It was as these useless ****ers thought they were suddenly a great team, a team that could sleepwalk to three points away from home. Well hopefully today was a reminder to them that we are still **** and when the players don`t even show any commitment we`re even more awful. No shots on goal against one of the worst defences in the country. Only Ceballos looked like tried, Aubamyegang especially was a disgrace.

Also if your game plan is to get it wide and put crosses in, it kinda helps to have someone who can win headers...we do not have that person.

Where did it go? We are indeed but we used to laugh at the fourth-place trophy.

This is a well-rehearsed argument. The success of the late nineties, the inherited squad and the great additions - combined with the relative weakness of the opposition (Manu aside) camouflaged the board's failure to continue investing in the team whilst the new stadium was built. Then Abramovich came into English football and started Moneyball, and Dein's attempts to bring new money into the club ended up with him being forced out and Kronke (who'd been brought in by him) taking control.

The rest, like Arsenal's standing as a big team, is history.

I think economics plays a part. Success in the nineties and early 2000’s doesn’t do much for you in the 2010’s because the economy has grown so much that the money we made off of success back then is not worth much now in an age of multiple transfer fees of £70m plus. Money clubs like Chelsea and City have played a massive part but that was always going to happen, whether through them or different owners, those clubs happened to win the lottery.
