The opening match of the group is an intriguing one as we see an unpredictable Oxeki take on the underdog of the group. There's immediate confusion as the teams walk out, but Oxeki does not appear to be on the bench leaving Sulosky to shake hands with just the assistant coaches.
The game begins with Paul Scholes immediately getting on the ball in the early stages, looking to dictate play against a workmanlike midfield on the other side. A few early potshots from Salah come to nothing, but Oxeki FC continue to threaten. Midway through the first half, Salah gets free down the right and plays a ball into the box. Adebayor battles the two centrebacks for the header but it's cleared out of the box. The ball only goes as far as Scholes who drops a shoulder and plays a reverse ball on the left for Sterling...
There's the opener!! A cool slotted finish into the bottom corner from the England man and it's 1-0 to Oxeki!! The early pressure pays off.
The Sulosky Rovers look to hit back immediately, but can't seem to find the final ball. Ginola picks the ball up and puts a cross in, but it's headed out only as far as Bergkamp on the edge of the box...
A stunning save on what looked a certain goal!! The ball looked destined for the top corner before Pickford got a fingertip to it. Pickford enjoyed that save and so did his teammates!! A big save to preserve the lead which sees them through to halftime ahead.
The second half begins with the game getting more physical and some yellow cards on both sides. Sulosky makes several subs but nothing yet from the opposition, whose manager is still not on the bench. Dennis Bergkamp forces another good save from Pickford, which leads to a corner which is dealt with. On the ensuing break, Raheem Sterling appears to be through on goal before the ball is cut out by the defence. All of a sudden we movement on the Oxeki bench, is it a substitution...?

Touchline sources tell us he had the wrong kickoff time and thought it was starting right now. He makes his presence felt immediately by subbing on Ibrahimovic and Cunha to find the decisive goal.
Declan Rice lines up a free kick on the right side, but again it's dealt with by the opposition. They work the ball back into the box, with Ibrahimovic heading it down for Mo Salah...
And he makes no mistake!!! 2-0 to Oxeki after Salah curls it into the far corner using the defender to block the GK's vision. There's the cushion they were looking for!!
Sulosky Rovers go for broke and sub on the rest of their attackers, but it leaves more gaps in midfield for Oxeki to break. Raheem Sterling once again finds himself free on the left with only the keeper to beat, but he looks like and sees a teammate all alone in the box...
The simplest of finishes for Cunha to make it 3-0 and put the result beyond all doubt!! Sterling squared it as the keeper rushed out leaving an empty net for Cunha to score. The perfect end to the game for Oxeki as Pickford and the attackers make the difference at both ends of the pitch:

Aubameyang shifts the ball onto his right foot and looks to curl one into the far corner...
Just flashes wide!! Aubamayeng was ready to celebrate, he was certain that it was going in!! We head into the halftime break goalless, but with plenty of action on the pitch.

It's a second yellow and a sending of!!! RunTheTrap cannot believe it and is letting the fourth official hear it!! RTP players crowd the referee but it's too late, they are down to 10 men with just 10 minutes left!!
All of this takes place while Cristiano Ronaldo has shooed away all of his teammates to make sure he is the one taking it. He takes a deep breath, lines up the ball and as soon as the referee blows the whistle...

The second matchday begins with a critical showdown between two evenly matched teams. Oxeki FC look to build on a strong showing while RunTheTrap is still smarting from an opening defeat.
No changes in personnel for either team although RTP promised greater intensity in the pre-match press conference. His words prove to be true as they come out and immediately push high up the pitch, looking to force mistakes from Oxeki’s side. A loose touch from Sylvain Distin looks like it might have led to a chance but it’s cut out well by Thiago Silva.
Twenty minutes in, we get the first chance of the game as Wayne Rooney plays a five and go with Harry Kane. His touch takes him slightly wide of the goal but he still manages to get a shot away…
Just flashes wide of the goal!! So close to opening the scoring.
RTP continue to probe as the team with greater urgency needing a win, and this time it’s Harry Kane’s turn to have a pop at goal…
Pickford is equal to it!! Frustration grows as another chance goes begging for RTP.
Oxeki FC seem happy enough with the state of the game, but get complacent shortly before halftime and lose possession in their own third. Olise pounces on a mistake from Danny Rose and whips a cross to the back post…Aubameyang heads it back across goal…
ROOOOOOONEYYYYY!!!! Smashes it on the half-volley right into the roof of the net to make it 1-0 to RunTheTrap and it’s no less than they deserve. A well worked goal that will surely please the boss. The halftime whistle blows not long after to give us a three way tie atop the group as it stands.

They’re only able to test Given with shots from outside the box early on but manage to work an opening with Mo Salah getting free down the right hand side. He drops a shoulder to come inside the fullback, the jinks back outside…shifts the ball again and gets his head up to shoot…
An incredible moment of individual brilliance!! Oxeki FC make it 1-1 and it’s all down to the Egyptian King who took on all comers before beating the keeper with his weaker foot!!
RunTheTrap makes several changes as head into the last 20 minutes and the need for a goal intensifies. Jota stings Pickford’s palms with a shot from outside the box, but no clear cut chances until they get a corner on the left side. Rooney lines it up and delivers a perfect ball onto the penalty spot, Dias gets a good contact to it…
The save of the tournament surely!!! Pickford was beaten all ends but somehow gets an outstretched hand to it!! RunTheTrap drops to his knees in his technical area!! Oxeki and his coaching staff are dancing in theirs!

The second group game of the day has a lot riding on it, with Sulosky knowing defeat could all but end his team’s chances in this tournament.
With the pressure only, his side start well and gain the initiative as they look to find an opening goal. The first twenty minutes pass without much goalmouth action until Bergkamp dinks a ball over the top of the centre backs for a onrushing Sane…
But he can’t keep his effort down!! Close to an opening goal but it remains 0-0.
Not long after, a quick free kick in midfield leads to Bergkamp receiving the ball in space. He brushes off former friend Patrick Vieira and powers towards goal, faking a pass to Ginola before getting his head up. He shifts it slightly to the right and lets it fly…

The final matchday of the group pits two teams with differing outlooks for the knockout phase. Sulosky is out but can still play spoiler for RunTheTrap, who needs a win combined with a JMB loss to go through. Overhauling the goal differnce could also be useful for his side.
With that being the case, RTP come out immediately looking to push the tempo and force mistakes. The let off a few shots early on but are unable to manage one on target. A couple of set pieces come and go without any trouble, until midway through the first half when Wayne Rooney swings in a free kick from just outside the box...

However thier tune changes on the half hour mark as he's dispossessed in midfield by Declan Rice who drives with the ball towards the opposition goal. He draws out a defender which creates the perfect angle to play in Sterling on the wing, who fires a first time cross into the six yard box...
