Once lovers now rivals… apart from the sideshow with the Scousers and the Bald Dutchman last year this is the true title race we have come to know.

Pretty bleak run in to this season defining game form wise but crucially we will have a better squad available (hopefully) than Bournemouth or Sporting.

This lineup is controversial and depends on three players coming back who’ve been absent but Havertz up top changed the way we played tonight.

The ball stuck with him and it allowed Noni and Trossard to get on the ball more in dangerous areas. That will be crucial to hit City on the break on Sunday.

Bring Gyok off the bench by all means and just pray that Rice and Zubimendi can make it through before a well deserved week off.

COYG please for once in my life!

Arteta is EXACTLY the type of guy to beat Simone 4-0 in a group game, but get knocked out by him in the same season too 😭

Would take that over getting beaten by Kane in the final at least.
Yeah i dont think we get past Madrid but we would be massive underdogs against Bayern/PSG if we did. Today showed me our side is way off the top technical sides, it would be similar to today, we would try hard but i dont think they are good enough in big games at the business end.

He doesnt need to with the owners, consistent CL are the only non negoitables.

Arteta doesn't need to do it, but it's part of the 'fine margin' narrative that supports his work when he loses.

I have also mentioned exactly what you said before. The owners will be content with where we are as it stands. Whether they want to take it to the next level is a different question.

I cant see them getting rid of him, the word that will stop them is risk management. The club is profitable and competing, its a big risk to replace a manager that continues to provide this business consistency.

A middle eastern/ russian ogliarch ownership groups have shown they are happy to accept the risk to go to another level, but an American ownership group, i would be surprised.

There is a moderate chance we go backwards if we sacked Mik but i would be happy to take that risk at this point as it may lead to us reaching the levels of a PSG. But its not my money.

Artetas gotten us far as he can but some of the bums we are linked with no I'm not going through this ritual again. Chelsea player and Anthony Gordon idiot only knows like one league and that one time he almost bought the roid monkey from Ukraine

Why we've continuously bought Chelsea rejects for incredible inflated prices must be examined. Every season. And they contribute nothing but a huge wage bill. I don't care what the optimists say, the league is done and dusted. Champions league, we won't get past Atletico. And if by some miracle we do, you think we beat Bayern or PSG in final with this team in this form? No way. I don't want to hear 'oh look where we are now' anymore. We can't get it done season after season. I'm out.

By the way, can we say we were robbed by the ref? I had a look at the challenge on Havertz and clearly Khusanov is clipping Havertz left leg/foot. Why would Havertz fall otherwise? He is in front of the defender all the time, clear view on the ball but the clip on the left leg let him lose his balance. There was not even a VAR check ...

Yep

Also haaland clearly pulls Gabriel's shirt and pulls him back for his goal. Can't believe that was allowed.

Of course we got lucky with Gabriel not getting red but it was already 2-1 by then

Meh..the 3-1 home game loss against them a few years ago hurt more. That team won my heart..they overachieved but ultimately fell short to a great city side. They dont get my sympathy this time around. Feel more like a dissapointed parent this season with some of the football on display

We aren’t getting close to the CL. And when we lose to Atletico, you’ll see more fans that want Arteta out because it will then finally sink in that we actually went from people predicting how many trophy’s we are gonna win, to winning absolutely nothing lmao

I’ve been done with this team for a couple years now but this is definitely the final nail in the coffin, spineless weak cowards, the whole club, it’s so embarrassing.

I think we werent that bad tbf, think City were kinda lucky with the amount of chances we did not scored. but we need to play Eze and Ødegaard together from now on.
I think both teams had thier periods Arteta yesterday did go for it even tho a point would been enough.

Still to win league you cant defend like this in city goals the 1st one Eze lost easy challenge and stopped Gabriel got fooled.

2nd goal was much worse

Anthony Taylor bottle it by the way in that Silva push on Kai clear foul and red card because he was last man then he bottle it when Gabriel should be sent off.

Extremely weak ref

I'm not saying they will let Enrique go, but you have to at least try. I do think however if we offer him enough money and allow him to get the players he needs then he would at least consider it (I think he has one year left on his contract?). With the board I agree with your sentiment there I could see them getting someone like Fabregas or Iraola to replace Arteta, which won't really change the mentality. We would play good football but still probably not win anything. However this is why I am advocating for Enrique that's the sort of manager we should be getting.
Hopefully, Enrique can bring Mbappe with him and maybe Olise from Bayern. If you're gonna dream, might as well dream big.

You mean Dembele? Mbappe is at Real now.

But yeah, generally that happens. Arteta also brought in your dream transfers like Pablo Mari, Zinchenko, Jesus and most importantly Raheem Sterling along with him.

Not that it alters anything but, regards the game, I agree with what I see as the more common and reasonable sentiments in this thread inasmuch as I thought it could’ve gone either way and that a draw would’ve been the fairest outcome if fairness was an actual thing in football.
Beyond that, as it currently stands and even with my blue tints on, I firmly believe that Arsenal are most likely by far to win the Premier League title this season.

I recommend that those in here who’re wallowing in negativity should look at the odds the bookies are giving . . and if they genuinely think that City will win the title then they should put their wages on it because the returns will be good if that comes true.

What I’d like the outcome to be is no secret but if I had to bet on it then I’d bet on Arsenal for sure because when we put the emotion aside we all know the bookies aren’t daft.

Hi Pep. I am pretty sure you are capable of winning those last 5 games.

Arsenal Quotes

I still have an interest in training and development, in the stages that make it possible for players first to acquire technique (between 7 and 12) and then to develop physically (between 12 and 16), then to deepen their mental resilience (between 17 and 19) and finally between 19 and 22 to acquire what is critical, like the roof of a house without which all the rest rots away: intelligence and motivation
