Roy Keane is bitter as ****. Fair play to Tim Cahill, he has his buddy Arteta’s back. I remember Lescott doing something similar too.

I was impressed with Tim Cahill tbf Sky should bring him on more often.

Cahill is one my favourite pundits now, with Richards (who has also been impressive of late), Carragher and Alex Scott (who tactical analysis and knowledge of footballers put most to shame).

Keane is such an ignorant toad. "How many games has Mikel lost"

Granted I'll give him the Leicester one, but that was a game we should've won and we were the better side in. Games like that will happen during a rebuild. City and Liverpool away from home are games that no Arsenal fan expected a win in. And if you had City away at the start of the season, Liverpool away at the end of the season and United away in the middle of the season nobody would batter an eyelid at two losses from 3. But because they're so compact one after the other its seen as poor.

I read another article where Keane said the Arsenal players have no respect for Arteta bacause they all call him by his name & as one of their mates. Man City players call Pep as Pep, I've heard Chelsea players doing the same thing. That's going to happen more & more these days especially if the manager is a relatively young bloke & former club player imo. Can't people be mates with their bosses, managers haha.

More Consistent Than Arteta
Primary reason I don’t mention those guys, Arteta strikes me as the type of guy when he closers the door that’s it, Out of sight out of mind. Only blokes that take everything personally harp on about the past.

yeah.. this is more of praise for Elneny and his behaviour as a sub, a starter and as an unused sub. Arteta isnt an AM bumsquad poster that he has to put the boot in and be snide at every opportunity.

Roy also said that Vieira wouldn't have gotten in United's midfield.

Funny...I don't remember Arsenal during Vieira's time, having to add in a 3rd midfielder to try and compete with Keane, like Ferguson did whenever he came up against Paddy.

They tried to buy him though.

I disagree. Because Saka essentially plays as an attacker even in the 343. We only ever have two CB's on the pitch and Tierney usually bombs on with Bellerin regardless of who we're playing. When we attack in a 343 its very different to other teams that do it. Its flexible.

In the games at home against low blocks you simply replace Elneny with Aouar or in the case of right now then Ceballos. And you move Auba to striker whilst signing a creative left winger. But again, right now you move Auba up front and put Willian/Martinelli left wing when fit.

Its about having a quality squad with the right options for different games.
Sure, in posession the 3-4-3 becomes a 4-3-3 and perhaps the bigger problem is then that Auba is at LW and Laca at ST.

Problem is that in transition there aren't enough bodies in midfield to build up quickly until the 5-atb have moved. Elneny and Partey lack outlets. If there is another player on the pitch positioned as a creative midfielder, ahead of Elneny and Partey even without posession, then we can quickly find the forward pass after regaining posession from the press. They can't pass to Laca because he's isolated with no creative CM roaming around to receive the ball from Laca. Auba is also dropping so deep when out of posession that he's busting his gut near the sideline on our own half and he is not in the position to overlap Laca who's holding up the ball.

I just don't see a coherent plan in attack. If I were playing with Laca, Willian, Saka and Auba, I would expect the plan to be: pass to Laca, he holds up the ball, lays it off to Saka who tries to find Auba/Willian and possibly a wing-back who's running the channel.

Now Laca is isolated and we have to aimlessly pass around in the back until we can find a diagional long ball, while our opponent has time to set up a 4-defenders 4-midfielders defensive block.

Hate losing to Arsenal the most these days, I live in London now and my work colleagues thought it would be funny to overwrite a document I had spent 2 hours working on with a GIF of Aubameyang dancing.

League is very weak
I don’t think it’s a rivalry thing, I think Keane is one of them guys that everything was better in his days, and unless you win 2/3 titles in a row today you aren’t really getting his respect etc.

Lost a sausage bet on Xhaka 😭
Keane is a bitter fool who makes his bread by saying unnecessarily controversial things that play up to his image. Wouldn’t care too much about what he has to say it’s just entertainment.

We need to look closely at this United result. Yes we got the points on the day, but the performance wasnt too far away from the Leicester game. The difference of course is that we converted.

We have work to do, Arteta knows it and that its urgent.

We can be a proper unbearable fanbase when we got one up on someone. Even Atletico fans started hating us after Partey, imagine if we actually won the league or the CL it would be a nightmare.

Isn't that positive? Considering what we've been seeing. This high, aggressive, pragmatic football is really good to watch. The only time we've started properly playing in that manor for me is against Leicester and we had 3 chances to go ahead in that game. Laca's goal should've stood as well.

For me its been the finishing in both the United and Leicester games that has let us down. If Pepe was running onto that Willian chance against United that hit the bar it probably goes in. If a better striker was on the end of the Tierney cross in the Leicester game its a goal.

This obviously isn't a problem we can easily fix within the squad. But I think Willian - Auba - Pepe wouldn't hurt the situation too much.
