Lots of positive there. So happy to get off with a win... away... in our opener.

Was good seeing Raul, Edu, & Fahmy in the stands. Everything is all being Analysed very closely.

Newcastle will do well this season despite the internal strife thats going on, thats a decent squad they have..

Zero agenda  I've defended Guendouzi/Willock countless times on here, Reiss didn't do enough

He is fantastic. I saw his highlights of pre season and he looked good but he really is extremely impressive. I'd say he was my 2nd MOTM after Chambers.

Ceballos and Pepe both looked off the pace, but that's fine at this point. Auba, Willock, Xhaka and Geundouzi were all very solid, as was the entire defence tbh.

Main issue was a lack of spark in attack with Mikhi killing so many moves, Nelson not really able to do a whole lot and our general approach in attack just a bit pedestrian.

Chambers was so solid. My MOTM. Absolutely deserves a final shot at the Arsenal.

Other than that - a shout out to Emery for resisting to start the high profile newcomers. Their quality will come through, but quite clearly all of them - Pepe, Ceballos, Martinelli et al needs more time to get up to speed. A great call, and it takes balls to do that.

The ref never booked Ceballos for that glorious piece of ****housery at the end.

Martin Atkinson - Appreciator of ****housery.

We need to start Pepe next week and get a solid 60 minutes into his legs so he's sharp for the Liverpool and Sp**s games.

Wonder if the Swedish broadcast will start interviewing Fredde post-game this season. I hope so, that would be fun!

Guendouzi is ridiculously talented. And looks like he's learned his lesson and releasing the ball much quicker now.

Very good in the second half along with Guendouzi. Controlled possession and created a nice chance for Auba as well as doing his job defensively. Fairly simple really.

Nelson wasn't that great but Willock looked pretty good. AMN and Chambers had a good game. Should give new comers few more weeks to settle in.
