Good peformances from Cedric, Saka, Lacca, Pepe, ESR, Holding and Leno.

Luiz was very poor.

I'm not one to complain about refs much but he was poor tonight.

2018 I thought ?
Nope it's been long we are seriously awful away from this season help us with no fans in stadium but good to see because club like ours should be looking to get wins away from home against these teams

Bellerin and Luiz were the sore spots this game. Luiz is just a dreadful defender, been saying it for years. Bellerin fragile in defense because he has no pace left, not that bad in possession though. ESR also not playing that well, but you can still see the quality.

Not a lot came off for Laca until he hit that assist. Quite important in the press today.

Really happy for Pepe. Was pressing front and back. Looked dangerous in possession and connected with his teammates well. Really annoyed Arteta didn't allow him to finish the match. Need to really build this guy's confidence.

Cedric and Saka top performers today. Very well done.

Xhaka was actually quite good in the first half with a few good forward passes. Should've had an assist for Laca in the first minute. Trailed off in the second half though.

One worrying thing is the drop in quality when bench players come on. Absolutely horrendous to see Willian come on. Elneny is sh*t too. Lost our press and possession game when Partey and ESR came off.

Partey was very solid too today. Lots of nice one touch passes, defensively solid and just so good in possession. Always makes the right decision and has vision and calmness.

Capitalized well on their mistakes and had an inspired pair of players in Laca and Saka to make the difference, but most importantly, went for it and stopped treating the opposition like they were the better team, even if it means they could have space for creating chances. A sign of progress, at least in some parts.

Hassenhuttl couldn't find a solution to his defensive problems today, that fullback switch ended up backfiring and they only got near via set pieces and David Luiz, instead of piercing us open like they did on the first half.
Full back switch? Bertrand was suspeneded and Walker Pieters was suspended. Soton were were three of their four first choice defenders today and it showed. Still a good win though, we`re on the right track but no doubt we faced them at a good time today.

Good win, Southampton were up for it tonight, they worked very hard. Just need to keep this run going now, Pepe looked better today its so frustrating watching him sometimes because the talent is there to see but his decision making and ball control is shocking most of the time. Hopefully nothing too serious with Smith Rowe and Partey. Hopefully can grab a win against United on the weekend.

CM were very reserved today. Not as many touches it seemed. On the backfoot.

Saka player well. Cedric played better as the game progressed. Pepe made plays and had Cedric behind him. ESR earned everything he got.

In the euphoria of victory, we still need realistic assessments of performance. It was midtable. Next week we’ll need to be a top of table performance. Hopefully Auba is back and Party and ESR are more involved in the game plan. Bellerin should sit if Tierney is well.
