The mistakes obviously cost us the game, but even if we had gone on to win this game that would have been an unacceptable performance. To be dominated by Watford like that for basically the whole game is just embarrassing. Even after 2-2 Watford had us pinned in our own half chasing the winner, we are the one who's supposed to be the big club lmao..

Results so far have been better than the performances, and our results are pretty meh too.. Only Sp**s 2nd half you could say was a good performance where we actually controlled the game.

Newcastle was the only performance this season where Emery got it right. He's been 0/4 in all games since then.

Pep has his team go long when its right to do so. That's what Leno was meant to bring in a ball playing keeper. We rarely if ever see it and truth is I dont think his distribution is much better than Cechs was.

When they forward press you have to go over them. Make them back off. Then switch back to short and keep them guessing.

City had a costly mistake yesterday but that's a one off. We keep making them. Giving the ball away, giving penalties away. Ridiculous.
If you buy donkeys, they’ll make an ass of the manager.

We were getting battered at the start of the game, then all the 2nd half.

Two goals which were against the run of play really and a decent 20 minute period aside in the first half, we got destroyed by Watford today.

Like a boxer who was good in rounds 3 and 4 but was taking a beating for the rest of the fight.

Not sure what you're on about. 31 shots against and you think Torreria would've made a difference?

Clearly a structural problem. A nothing player like Torreria wouldn't have changed anything.
Perhaps, since he’s a DM, and neither Xhaka nor Guendouzi are good at breaking up play. Anyway, let’s see how well that partnership goes for the rest of the season.

Souness called it right when he said in the second half against Sp**s, we got stronger. The second half vs Watford, we got worse and worse. A truly baffling performance where each result seems to be X times better than the performance.

Here's my take on the game.

Watford dominated the opening minutes but we managed to score against the run of play before scoring an absolutely brilliant 2nd goal. By half time it was 2-0 and we were comfortable, for me this should have been game over. We should be able to play in a way which would have seen Watford getting minimal chances. Instead the complete opposite happened. We persisted with playing out from the back giving it to Sokratis even though it's clear as day passing out from the back isn't a strength of his at all. And we finally get punished for it and then Watford pretty much unleash an onslaught of attacks for the rest of the game. We basically just sat back and hoped Watford wouldn't score. The 2nd quality was inevitable. Yes it was a Luiz mistake but he shouldn't have been put in that position, we were a mess and disorganised and the pressure was just too much in the end. Watford really should have won it, Doucoure especially really should have scored. The substitutions were pretty dreadful, Torreira didn't improve us at all when he came on for Guendouzi. Willock for Ceballos was a little odd when Ceballos is far better at holding on to possession which is what we needed. But Nelson for Özil was completely strange, that was not the game to bring Nelson in, especially not for the most experienced player on the pitch bar Luiz/Sokratis. The one guy who has the quality to keep the ball. Also it's amazing we had Auba and Pepe up front but never managed to use them effectively in the 2nd half. It was just a shambles. We looked like the small team we were 20th and looking to hold on to an unlikely win. This was Watford we were playing but in that 2nd half we surrendered more than the Liverpool game and that was against the champions of Europe.
