The summer is still long but here we go again. Hope I didn't make a mistake in the list. Not an easy start at all on paper, but there's a lot of potential to make up points in the first half of the season. Let's start updating this as the season unfolds, keeping tabs on the closest competitors too.

Leicester City become Leeds United
Ipswich Town become Burnley
Southampton become Sunderland

As of Nov 08, 2025 - Final expected points: 81 (+7)

Round-up:

We finally beat West Ham United after two home losses in a row, getting back to plus 5. Meanwhile Liverpool didn't lose any points as they also lost to Chelsea at the end of last season too (3-1). Which means they still have 6 more projected points than us. Haaland got another plus 2 for City, they move up the table as well and are looking like fighting for the title again this year. Chelsea got the same result last year, which keeps them near the 70-point line.

Next up:

First it's another fun round of international games, but after that we've got:

Nottingham Forest - Chelsea (25-5-2025): Levi Colwill struck in the second half to send his team back to the Champions League with a breathless 0-1 victory at Nottingham Forest.
Manchester City - Everton (19-4-2025): Manchester City boosted their hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League qualification as they scored two late goals to secure a 2-0 win over Everton.
Fulham - Arsenal (8-12-2024): Arsenal had a late goal disallowed in their 1-1 draw at Fulham as they missed an opportunity to close the gap on leaders Liverpool to four points.
Liverpool - Manchester United (5-1-2025): Amad scored the equaliser as Manchester United fought back in a thrilling 2-2 draw with Premier League leaders Liverpool at Anfield.

Essentially it's an opportunity for Arsenal and Liverpool to gain points on last season. Both Chelsea and City can only drop points in the projected table.

We didn’t deserve to win the league last year, I’m not even sure we deserved to come second tbh.

But that year - that year we deserved to win the league. That run was something else.

Leagues are often decided on margins and they just didn’t go our way. Son or Wood put away just one of the chances they got and this place would look and feel a lot different 😔

I don't agree about last year. I blame the fraudulent red cards. They caused us to lose games and had knock on effects with fatigue and injuries

Or Trossard putting up his tap-in chance at 1st half against Villa, or us not dropping 2 silly points at home to 10-men Fulham etc....🥹

Trossard cost a lot last season. Couple of horrific back passes cost us points and a red. Then also got his red. Got his pay day though.

Margins + Young Coach. + Young Team they win something this season and you get a sense of 5-7 seasons of dominance... wishful thinking I hope not.

We are set up for a sustained period of challenging for titles over the next 3-4 seasons.

7 Games in and we are in a good place. Need to keep winning, no dropping silly points as that will be costly no matter which stage in the season. Surprisingly after 7 games we had 1 more point last season than we do now. But from game week 8 to 11 we only picked up 2 points from a possible 12. Which meant we were a whopping 9 points behind Liverpool after only 11 games, effectively out of the title race by then.

That was criminal, we were up 2-1 as well. That's the game more than Villa that cost us that season.

Arsenal Quotes

When I arrived, an Arsenal share was worth £800; it subsequently rose continuously in value and by the time I left it stood at £17,000.
