Form guide rightfully puts Liverpool ahead of the pack.

Would be interesting to see the remaining fixtures for the teams. That should also give us good view of what is to come.

As discussed earlier, Liverpool has already picked up +2 more points by beating West Ham away. They have a new chance to get +2 when they face United at home too.

And to make it even more pressing, Liverpool have a good chance to pick +4 soon, with West Ham (A) and United (H).
They drew with them last season, so if they win those two matches, they'll be on course for 90, before we get to our Sp**s and Villa matches.

We have to consider Liverpool's banana skins as well which they might have won last season but yeah still looks bad.

But only hope is this Liverpool side looks similar to our 22-23 one. Couple of bad results and injuries could completely derail it. Let's see.

The chances for us to pick new points are few and in between.

Yes, but we only have only 5 more games where we can pick off points from last season

Mid January
Sp**s (H)
Villa (H)

22.02.2025
West Ham (H)

01.04.2025
Fulham (H)

10.05.2024
Liverpool (A)

In meantime, we have so many potential banana skin matches, where we could drop further points from last season.

I am looking at:

Brentford (A)
Brighton (A)
City (H)
United (A)
Everton (A)
Chelsea (H)

Liverpool are cruising right now, they could end up at 105 points maximum but looking at their fixtures list they are now heading for 90+. Meanwhile we have to be perfect to achieve the same, and can only get to 96 if we win all our matches. Chelsea and City are projected lower so I'll keep the analysis regarding Pool and Arsenal.

Next 5 in the league:

Liverpool - Man Utd (0-0)
Nottingham Forest - Liverpool (0-1)
Brentford - Liverpool (1-4)
Liverpool - Ipswich Town (3-1)
Bournemouth - Liverpool (0-4)

These are tricky fixtures for them, bar Ipswich at home. They got a staggering 13 points last time around, which would put them at 58 points from 23 games, an amazing return and a 2.52 PPG. Meanwhile we have:

Brentford - Arsenal (0-1)
Brighton - Arsenal (0-3)
Arsenal - Sp**s (2-2)
Arsenal - Villa (0-2)
Wolves - Arsenal (0-2)

Tricky fixtures for us as well, we have to really be perfect. There are opportunities to improve however. Brentford have been awful recently, drawing at Brighton and losing to Forest at home the week before. Brighton have been worse, drew at home to Brentford, drew at West Ham, drew at Leicester, lost at Fulham, drew at home to Southampton. Then there's Sp**s, who are in awful form. We are better than Villa and Wolves too. We can and should aim for 15. With some luck, we close the gap with Liverpool.

I was doing a look back at the famous Newcastle collapse of 95/96. Just incredible that they led by 12 pts with 13 games to play and then managed to only win 5 of the next 13, drawing 3 and losing 5. Keep believing until impossible.

Chelsea are dropping to a projected 73 points now, these last three games have killed them off.

To achieve 89 points we must win 17, draw 2 and lose 1.

I'm pretty confident of the losing 1 part. I don't think we have enough in attack to change some draws to the required amount of wins..

Bournemouth away is one of the tougher fixtures this season. Liverpool aren’t beating them 4-0. Might even be a draw.

So, gameweek 20 coming up. At the moment, this is the projected table, under the assumption that Liverpool beat Everton when the game is due to be played.

1. Liverpool 89
2. Arsenal 84
3. City 76
4. Chelsea 73

No idea where Newcastle and Forest are, but unless they go on a big run, I don't think it's worth it to include them. Also, we should keep City and Chelsea in there, things can change quickly over 2 weeks as we've seen with Chelsea.

Fixtures:
Crystal Palace - Chelsea
Man City - West Ham
Brighton - Arsenal
Liverpool - United

Chelsea, Man City and Arsenal won their respective games last year, so no gain for them this round. Liverpool drew to Man Utd last time around, so it's an opportunity for them to go to 91 points. Which would be incredible, but it's good to mention that they then have a huge run where they took many points last year. They beat Brentford away, Forest away, Bournemouth away, drew at City. It's that time around that we have to reel them in, especially since we can gain points in our Sp**s / Villa games.
