Premier League 17/18: Matchday 5

Country: Iceland
There is few games now where United looked like trash side until late game where they score like 3 goals in space of 10 minutes. Can they get away with that in every game for rest of the season?

Didn't we beat Koeman's side 3-1 last season or did I dream it.

We did.

I'm talking about the game in December where we lost 2-1. Everton had lost/draw few games before. Koemann did the same think around x-mas with Southampton the year before that. Lost/drew like 7 games in row before smashing us 4-0.

Manchester teams will be up for title,no dobut about that.Don't know that some other teams will be there ? Chelsea and Sp**s can maybe same season like last, but don't know that will be enough.Liverpool will be worse and we should try to be in top 4.

Mourinho starting early with the mind games here. Smart strategy because Pep seems to lose it any time someone looks at him the wrong way so it won't take much to get him wound up.

Apparently Koeman said that spending £140 million doesn't mean that they should be competing for top four. Ok, then why did they spend that amount of money? Just to finish 7th again?

Under Moyes Everton finish 4th and had several real goes at finishing top 4 despite having absolutely **** all to spend. Now Everton are finally able to spend money in comparable to us, Sp**s and Liverpool but they don't think they're able to properly compete.

I think Koeman realises he ****ed up with some of his signings and that most haven't improved the team that much so he's trying to lower expectations. Remember Roberto Martinez was heavily criticised for finishing mid-table with Everton, wonder if they'll hold Koeman to the same standard.

Moyes wasn't that consistent tbh.Everton also had some really bad seasons under him and they were in mid-table for a few times.Think that they only once finished in top 4,but Villarreal beat them in play-off for CL.

He had better team in my opinion and style of play was kinda better than under Martinez and Koeman.

Well if their team was better back then that it's pretty damning of the way Koeman has spent money.

I'm not trying to say that Moyes is a brilliant manager or anything but this idea that Everton can spend a lot of money and then just finish mid-table is very weird. Surely the owners will want them to put up a serious fight if they're gonna be spending that amount of money to bring in supposedly better players.

Koeman has played 4 games against Top 6 and changed a half of the team, give him some time, but he should show something in the EL to keep the job. Milan spent even more but nobody is expecting them to challenge Juve this year.

Yeah, I'm thinking the same. There doesn't seem to have been a lot of thought behind some of the signings, leaving them lacking in pace and size up front, and reliant on an aging washed-out ogre & a 50m Viking queen specialising in set pieces.

Yeah, got to admit it's a very flattering result. Thought we were bad for a good 60-70 minutes of the game. But at least we are taking our chances which is a far cry from last season. I'll take the 3 points and clean sheet, I was almost certain Rooney was going to score against us.
