Jurgen Klopp, talking to BT Sport, comes out swinging on the subject of the ESL fiasco. “It hurt a lot. The thing was, yes, our owners made a mistake. We said it often enough, they know it. There are a couple of things here I call bullsh*t on. Firstly the 'it wasn't Liverpool, it was representatives of Liverpool' like...??? Are we really gonna get into a philosophical debate about what is and isn't a football club? Liverpool won the league last year, or did they, was it Liverpool or just representatives of Liverpool that won the league? You can't separate the OWNERS of a club from the club, sorry you just can't, we all know it wasn't the fans or the players, we're not children, but if your owner makes a decision, guess what, the football club is responsible for that decision, you utter tool.
It's wrong that the Leeds fans directed their anger at them? "We're just the face of the club"..yes, Jurgen, you are the face of the club, that's why they directed it at you, what do you want them to do, organise a personal zoom call with your owner?
"You have to calm down, there's a pandemic"...well ok so are all protests during the pandemic invalidated also? The BLM protests, the Lukashenko protests, the Woman's Strike protests in Poland, the anti-policing protests, the Hong Kong protests etc etc etc. That is a hugely problematic thing to say. And one might say that football isn't important enough to protest, but I'd say when it is such an obvious symptom of wider problems of capitalism then absolutely it is a reason to protest.
So his message is "Guys they apologised, it's been 6 days already! C'mon you can't be angry, and you can't be angry at us, you're only angry because Sky is telling you to be angry, don't gather in crowds!"

I mean Arteta isn't exactly Che Guevara, but he basically said "yeah they're angry, we get it, let them be angry". He didn't gaslight everyone into thinking it's entirely wrong to be angry and to protest. Honestly Klopp is the touchiest, most sensitive guy out there, a small group of Leeds fans shout at him and he's still complaining about it nearly a week later? F*cking get over yourself, you melon, just accept that you're not the good guys in this situation and move on.
