Sp**s are a young team who look very fit and are good physically. Chelsea look old, tired and devoid of ideas. Sp**s (like Liverpool) are benefitting from operating without much pressure and a lot of media support. I take nothing away from MP but he's had a long time to build with the support of a competent board and a lot of high performing but underrated players.

Chelsea 2015/2016 - 1oth place
Chelsea 2016/2017 - 1st place
Chelsea 2017/2018 - 5th/6th place

One year you're a pub team and the next you're winning the league. That's really inconsistent for a top club.

He reminds me of Adam Crafton, the Daily Mail journalist, who said not a single Arsenal player would get in the Sp**s side . . . just before we beat them 2-0

Football's very simple for some people.
Lloris
Trippier/aurier Sanchez Vertonghen Rose
Wanyama
Alli Özil
Son Kane Eriksen

There you go mate, one player makes it. Can't wait for the xhaka fanboys to tell me he should be ahead of big Vic.

Chelsea vs Sp**s today was such a nothing game, we all know Chelsea are absolute dogshit this year and the players have basically stopped trying (Barca home leg aside). Let's see Sp**s truly win a big game when the pressure is ACTUALLY on, not these pointless games that mean nothing. 2015 League Cup final, 2016 battle of the Bridge, 2017 FA Cup semi-final, 2018 CL last 16 vs Juventus. Those are ACTUAL important games with a lot riding on them, mainly actual trophies and not just the pride that comes with beating Arsenal or finally winning at the Bridge or "putting the pressure on". 2 of those 4 could have very well resulted in them winning a trophy, the other two would have kept their hopes seriously alive and they failed in all 4 attempts in the last 4 seasons. In the past 4 seasons they managed to finish 5th, lose a title race to Leicester and then end up 3rd in a two horse race, be the "best of the rest" in any easily title win vs Chelsea and in this season finish 4th in all likelihood.

I think Poch has done a good job in terms of making them a top 4 side but let's not pretend that this is a side that can go that extra mile and has a different mentality because at the end of the day they're still 10 years without a trophy, 27 years since they won a trophy that wasn't the league cup and 67 years since they won the league. When Poch manages to changed these facts and end their barren run then maybe we can talk about this being a great Sp**s side. Until then they're a side that have slightly overachieved in the league with not much to show for it.

Martin Tyler said Sp**s don't "need" to win a trophy, because they've only won 2 league cups in 27 years.

They're 6th in squad cost, so they're 3 or 3 places above where they should be. Which is good.

But nothing like Wenger acheived between 2005 and 2013 where his spend was near the bottom of the league. Imagine a -£33m spend over 8 years and top 4 every year ffs. Never got the recognition he deserved for that. Just fans mocking his top 4 finishes and calling it a trophy drought.

Sp**s can tell you about a trophy drought ffs.

Sorry but this isn't true. There are a lot of us who until very recently praised Wenger! Mostly for those top four finishes on basic budgets. People wanting Wenger gone has nothing to do with the austerity years. It has to do with the now and the fact that we're being left behind by the rest of the league in many ways.

Do yourself a favour and go read the tactics thread. Read back a few years if you have time. Our style has changed but we're not getting better with better players. We're arguably getting worse with better players.

You keep trying to make out like football is black and white but the truth is it isn't and with all your posts about luck etc, you should know that.
