Elite Drama Queen
Unless they're a super talent (and that'll be evident in training) then there's no point risking it. You can just take a young CB play him and then he magically turns into De Ligt. It would have been apparent from a very young age how special De Ligt was, not only in terms of his ability but his character too. It's a rare breed. Throwing a young CB into a title race could end up ruining a young players career. It'd be better if they had a few loans to gain experience, then maybe once they get experience of first team football and even PL football they might be ready. Promoting a young CB will end up costing you points in the short term. City cannot afford that so it's safer to go with the experience even if they're not top level like Laporte.
Young players can always show elite ability in training. Football is littered with massive talents who didn't make it at the top level. As a manager you have to be willing to give them the opportunity to showcase that talent on the pitch. If it works out, then great, if it doesn't then at least you know. It's best that you play them and see what they can offer. You don't have to play them in the big games but you can play them and see how they do. Sending them on loan and hoping they get the same kind of experience that they could get playing with your team is a cop out.

It's not a cop out, it's so they're better prepared for the demands and the pressures of playing for a club like City challenging for the title. In a title race where there's gonna be very few points dropped by their rivals Liverpool. The risk is massive. Not only in terms of dropping points but also in terms of completely destroying the young players confidence. If a young players gets loaned out to a club like Villa lets say and does well then he's better prepared than just being plucked from the under 23's and thrown into the deep end. Most players at that level are nowhere near ready mentally and physically to be thrown straight into a title race. They also might be caught out by
the speed of the game.

All the top sides in the world have experienced CB's starting for them. Apart from Juve who have De Ligt who is already as I said a rare case. You'll struggle to find another teenager with his maturity, physical attributes and strength in character. If City had someone on the level of De Ligt believe me we'd know about it.

Pool will win the league comfortably. City are struggling a bit on both ends of the pitch against Everton. Pep's got his excuses out regarding not having money to buy CB's. Pep will leave City at some point and Pool are going to dominate English football. We're doomed.

Think that Klopp will stay longer than Pep.So,it has to happen one time.Doubt that other top 6 teams will improve a lot to compete with Liverpool.
