Its not like before auba was 25-30 goals strikers a season him gone downhill like that don't help because our team don't have replacement other than u23 kids. I don't want to say Arteta problem because if we still have not created since auba exiled I'd agree with you but we haven't

Yeah I fully agree that Auba isn't really the same as he was when he was scoring 20+ goals a season, for whatever reason that may be.

And whilst we did look better and started creating for a bit with Lacazette as striker, I think the last few games prove that we still have a bit of an issue creating and a big problem imo is variety.

I didn't really want to bring the cup games into it as in my mind they don't really matter this season (league and top 4 is the main goal) but we looked flat against Notthingham, Liverpool in the 2nd leg (bar the first 20 minutes) and on the whole we looked flat against bottom of the league Burnley.

Auba isn't scoring like he was before but I think having him as an option might've helped in creating enough variety that we get a goal instead of struggling.

You feel Wolves away could make or break our season, tbh.

Win and that could kick start our push for Champions League, during our run in.

Lose and we are down to 8th again, ffs.

Pretty much all of our issues since 2016 (losing the title to Leicester, dropping out of the Top 4 and then Top 6) can all be put down to our poor away form (last season without fans doesn't count, imo) and our away form this season is "inconsistent" at best...losing another big away game to Wolves could really damage us, both in terms of league table and psychologically... absolutely need a win, to get some belief that we can do something this season.

What makes you think we will win against Wolves at their ground? They've been hammering strong sides there and you think the mighty Arsenal, who can't score against Burnley, will win?

This isn't even a "IF" situation. Top 4 is gone, season is already broken.

I try to be positive, tbh.

But yeah, running low right now...heart says, maybe we can win...head says we will probably lose, like we have lost most of our important away games the last 5/6 years.

Maybe Arsenal can prove everyone writing them off to be wrong though, you never know for sure

I was positive for the season up until now. I'm at that point where I think Arteta is the one doing those high bets. He probably bet 60k on a draw today.

Our chances of finishing fourth arent as high as people make out.
Basically we start on eye level with Sp**s, ManU and WestHam now, which wasnt better at the start of the season. Obv Everton arent threatening for the position and we're better than what it seemed after 3games but its not as if we're in the front seat. We would have been if we had won vs Burnley and Sp**s wouldnt always start scoring after 90..
Actually the draw vs Burnley and the performances in january after that wonderful display vs City + those last minute wins for ManU and Sp**s (TWICE and once with two goals needed!) really have us on the curve going down.
Now we've been turned down by the one striker that maybe could have helped us reaching another level and we have to do it the hard way.
I feel soon it will be about coming to terms with finishing 6th, which at least will mean Europe.
Maybe we can have a little fun and stay in the fight for 4th with a couple of good performances a bit longer.
Partey yellow red vs Pool in 10mins and no senior cm available vs Burnley, making us play 4141 (which we cant play) and Laca missing the sitter really bothers me and is so Arsenal.

The most important thing is that i stopped watching other teams games (esp Sp**s). Watching, this would have felt like daggers against me personally.

I honestly like the team very much now. Most of the deadwood is gone and i'd rather spend wisely for a Europe Campaign next season in summer, than doing the same mistake as in the past and buy mediocre players on longterm contracts. I dont mind that all these strikers need replacing in summer.
I'll root for Nketiah to score a couple and i will enjoy the youngsters when they have a good day.

I said it very early in the season that top4 would be an insane extra bonus. And that people were getting way ahead of themselves on here.

But most people on here are just that daft. They remind me of the guy in modern porn that is playing a video game while their GF cheats behind them. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Formation wise we should be looking to play two up top. By far the most points we had when Laca and Auba played together or at least ode played further forward than recently (albeit against better teams and without Partey and Xhaka).
Aston Villa was when Laca was allowed to start for the first time (after having scored the equaliser vs Palace after a horror performance in the first 70mins with 4141 with partey as the sole CDM).
Then we won everything ecxept Pool away and lost the plot again when going more defensive vs United and Everton. I mean to analyse this you dont need an expert.

It should be mentioned that Ode is counted as a striker (i believe bc of his different positioning) in the games vs Soton and West ham, when Auba was already excommuned)

Bildschirmfoto 2022-01-29 um 12.09.40.png

Personally i would love to see the 3 of them together, Ode Auba and Laca and play a 3412.

I believe we have the perfect personell.
Front three and this lot behin depending on opponent and form.
We have ball playing CBs and inverted fullbacks that are capable of playing offensive CBs

Saka/TIerney Xhaka Partey ESR/Tomi
Tierney/Gabriel White/Gabriel Tomi/White

You'd play

Saka Tierney Gabriel White Tomiyasu vs smn like Sp**s
Saka Tierney White Tomi ESR vs Norwich
and
Tierney Gabriel Holding White Tomi if you need to protect a lead (or a draw-what we did at anfield 2w ago).

The strikers would love to play with and off each other again and if you play on the counter, you bring one Martinelli and/or Pepe as a 2nd striker and ESR instead of Ode.

Conte or Tuchel and we'd actually do that.

But now that Auba was gone by Tets we cant even play 2strikers and we pretend its all Lacas fault when he's actually having a very decent season for us as the lone work horse striker.
No one wnats that role. Could imagine Vlahovic being explained by his agents that he wouldnt score more than 10goals a season with us bc of our system that wants the wingers and runners to score.

We've self destructed our way out of top 4. Sp**s ropey squad wasn't performing, and uniteds team of sex pests could lose to anyone.

Our youngsters were really performing, but we were a bit too reliant on those youngsters and the same 11.

Now we have ensured that we have to rely on that 11 all season and are crossing our fingers for no injuries. On top of that we have put question marks all around ourselves and an air of negativity that certainly reaches the players.

6th or 7th finish I think, but it was there for the taking at one point.

Tottenham look like they’ve strengthened the most out of all contenders, but still doesn’t look impressive.

West Ham failed to get anyone and Utd lost Greenwood.

Still possible for top four but it’ll probably be EL, back to where we were with Wenger.

Think that's Champions League gone, sadly...just don't have that "X-factor" in our team, even though it's a very decent squad.

Even though Pierre might not be that guy anymore...he had like 15 goals in 35 games in 20/21, that's not that bad considering everyone was saying he was finished...and even this season, yes he hit a bad patch, but he had like 7 goals in our first 11...he could have given us something until the end of the season, I feel he had something left in the tank...or we needed another quality striker to replace him.

There has still been a lot of positives this season, lot of young players stepping up...so it's important we try and get Europa League at least, as we need something from this season.

Agree with the minority, rather cones than a pile of amateur hasbeens

Sadly, we don't have the experience to nick it last minute. We need to reach December levels with plenty of responsibility on young shoulders, hoping Sp**s and United slipping

Not imposible

Was curious how much more the CL was worth compared to the 30M it use to be.

Tottenham earned 60M in TV revenue from the CL in 19/20. We desperately need that going into the summer.

We make around 35M from EL though don't we. Its a 25m hit, so financially not as significant as it was during the Wenger years. But it makes it harder to attract the very top players which is where our absence from the CL hurts.

We have lost a few yes. But our best 11 right now is the same team that got us upto 4th spot. The challenge now is fielding that 11 every week and avoiding red cards. We have seen that 11 perform but as soon as 1 of them is injured or out then the system folds.

The transfer window has ended our chances of 4th. 7th or 8th is our likely finish now. The Kroenkes, after a few weeks when it looked like they might have softened, have demonstrated their ambition for Arsenal - to be a comfortable mid-table side.

They were worried that CL qualification would reignite the debate about their lack of ambition if they didn't spend on players so they've nipped this is the bud by ensuring we won't qualify. There are not enough goals in this team, and there are shortages in the squad in central midfield and now at centre-back as well.

Arteta would be better employed swinging those arms and expending all that energy jerking himself off on the toilet-seat rather than making a pointless spectacle of himself pretending to guide the team from the touchline when all he is doing is confusing them.

Many here forget the last game xhaka/partey played together was vs. The top ranked team in PL whom we were dominating until we were robbed by the refs. In every game since, we've operated a makeshift MF, to which all our total lack of offence can be attributed, because we had no one else in MF with sufficient quality to move the ball to our attackers in the middle of the pitch with speed and we were forced into the U-shaped fail offence from late 2020 many of us are familiar with.

So the games were a free hit / **** planning from Edteta, depending on your opinion of those 2. But so long as those xhaka/partey can regain their December form and don't get hurt, we still have a good shot at Top 4.
