Nothing to lose now. No pressure. Might be a blessing in disguise.

Still got two killers up top in Tross and Ethan.

This is where Arteta ball can shine. Defense, corners, and goals from whomever can contribute.

PL is still our best chance.

It was unfortunate Pool couldn't get all 3 points.

Now the highly impressionable types will believe the drivel that "It's still possible" when we don't have a front-line & this group of bottlers (manager included) cannot be trusted when the stakes are high.

Having said that, I'm rather sanguine about our top 4 prospects for the next couple of seasons.

Lol title race with 3 attackers

We will switch playing 4-4-2 or Merino/Ødegaard as a false 9. I would even try Rice as a 9 at this moment of time

If if Saka comes back, not much will be be solved as Ethan is our current best available winger. Martinelli could have played the striker role so his absence is more painful actually.

I think what @Red London has proposed could work well, which is a 442 yes but a diamond formation.

Have Ødegaard play at the top of the diamond as the false 9, with Rice-MLS-TP5 as the midfield behind him. That allows us to keep Ode as our forward player without any need for him to join our build up. It also allows us to keep our press co-ordinated.

It would need us to have proper width though, so we'd need someone like Tierney on the left and White on the right.

The main thing though is that we get Martinelli and Saka back in good time. We have 7 games from now until end of March, which basically confirms our season.

Yeah you could have a little belief for the remainder of the season which could make it a lot more enjoyable.

Or you could essentially sit there in piss stained sheets and just moan about everything.

If our attackers were fit we'd have a big chance. They now have Villa, City, Newcastle in two weeks time. You just never wanted to see it because our group of bottlers can't handle it. Meanwhile, the same was said after last years result vs. Fulham and West Ham, only to go on a 16-1-1 run.

Our only problem is that we don't have a front-line, I'll give you that.

Liverpool have dropped points in 5 of the last 11 league games.

We'll actually have a game in hand after this gameweek with them playing wolves at home and villa away midweek. It really is a key part of the season. Any dropped points for Pool, even in one game and we could be 7 or 8 behind with a game in hand.

We then have west ham at home whilst they go to City the next day. The pressure is going to be huge. Beat Leicester away and West ham at home and we could be looking at quite the point swing.

This exactly. The big problem now is the fact that we are relying on Sterling, Trossard and Nwaneri to do it. That's not going to happen.

I’d back us to turn it around if we had forwards

Time to call up Andre Harriman-Annous imo. Edwards and Butler-Oyedeji couldn’t get it going at League 1 level.

He’s our biggest forward talent left seen now Obi-Martin has gone. Maybe not start him against Leicester but first change at least.

He didn't even make the cut to go to the Dubai trip

Liverpool aren’t all that. Only 7 points clear and we’ve had an all timer injury crisis. Think we’ve managed to put our best team out once this season.

Is it time to entertain what happens if Sterling,Nwaneri or Trossard get injured next? They have to play 90 mins from now on lol every game.

Surely we have to change our formation/system and only play with two attackers given we've only got three fit "senior" forwards?

I don’t think it’s that. More to do with those three fixtures after Wolves for Liverpool in Villa (A), City (A) and Newcastle (H).

There’s no chance they’ll come out unscathed. Can see a monumental collapse on the way but I doubt we’ll fully capitalise as Forest (A) is a tricky one for us.

Dude, even if we had Havertz and Martinelli I'd actually be buzzing right now 😥
