For some Arteta lovers it seems easier to think the reason we are struggling with injuries is due some esoteric things that thinking it's a pattern. But when Wenger was around instead a lot of people here blaming him and the staff for our injury record and @Makingtrax won't let me lie. What it's funny is all these double standards and weird excuses. At the end Arteta lovers convert every negative situation in some kind of victimisation where he is not responsible of any bad situation.

Clearly there is an element that can be blamed on Arteta but there are plenty of other factors too and bad luck is one of them.

In contrast to this season last season we barely picked up a significant injury to our main guys, was Arteta managing the squad better then? Nope, big players were playing week in week out.

If Liverpool falter, which they might well do, it’s high time for Arteta to finish the season strongly and not choke like he’s done so many times before.

I see this comment riled up a lot of feathers but tbf Trax didn't say we choked last season.

This comment could easily refer to 21/22 (chasing CL) and 22/23 where you could argue we "choked".

And before you come at me like a rabid dog because I dared to criticise Arteta, I don't think we choked 2nd half of last season.... in fact we finished strongly and I was impressed, but I do think we definitely choked in 22/23.

I'd take a draw though tbh, slashes the lead to 5 points and we've got to play them too.

Anyway I don't wanna curse it so I'm not saying anymore about that game lol.

Same. I think that's huge for us given how Villa defended.

Beat west ham and go within 5 points. Just get within 2 or 3 by the time we head to anfield.

You have to wonder what kind of shape City are gonna be in for their game vs Liverpool. A win at the Etihad would be such a huge mental boost for Liverpool at this stage that it probably Sp**s them on. Can only hope City are ready to fight to get top 4 as much as it might be beneath them.

These dropped points for Liverpool mean nothing unless we win our next 4 before the international break.

One loss and it's gone.

Mad to think that there's a very possible chance the title race will be in our hands by the end of the week. Immense pressure on Liverpool now going to the Etihad

Yeah it's wild. By the time Liverpool play their cup final we could be 1 or 2 points behind with a win against Chelsea at home. Insane.

This should be a lesson to the people who wanted to hand Liverpool the title a while back. The gap will likely be cut in half over a few games. Momentum changes very quickly in this game.

Getting over the line is tough and pressure builds. It was never going to be a stroll for Liverpool. The only team in recent years who were good enough to walk away with it was Man City.

West Ham and every remaining match should be treated like a cup final. No taking anything for granted. And it's not going to be pretty, we're going to have to grind results out for now.

But the momentum is firmly with us now, which is good. All the pressure is on Liverpool and that will intensify after every game and every dropped point.
