The thing is Arteta calmed down this season big time. Got screwed constantly but kept his mouth shut for the most part. Got gagged by the PGMOL.
Yes true. He calmed down a lot in the 2nd half of the season and we also got less calls against us. Coincidence or not? we don't know.

Ironically our fans need to be quiet and stay humble this summer, 9 other English teams have won trophies more recently than us ffs...all our energy must be putting Arteta the the board under pressure to fix this next season, even if it includes a new manager and a lot of these players being replaced.

Sadly our fans are idiots and will be as loud and dumb as ever this summer, talking about all the progress that doesn't matter 👍

Are you for real? A lot of these trophies we couldn’t even qualify for because we weren’t **** enough to be in then. We couldn’t win the Vanarama cup either, do we have to stay quiet in the presence of those teams who did?

We’re operating in a different league and the only trophies that matter for top clubs are the PL and the CL. Thats the measuring stick. Winning a Europa means **** all really (other than when you finish 17th in your league clearly).

People need perspective big time!

Let's not pretend that Sp**s would have won this trophy had the CL format not changed. It's all about timing and they massively benefitted from CL levels teams not dropping into the competition, and their semi final being Bodo Glimt and the final being against the worse United team we've seen in decades.

As stated above the only trophies that really matter to us is the PL and CL and that's because the team and manager have changed our expectations and out us in this position.

We didn't play a single good game of football this season, the injuries and luck and ref nonsense predictably dried up when it just kept happening regardless of everything. Yesterday everyone here was quite angry after having to suffer another session despite getting a good result, match thread doesn't lie.
We didn't? Come on. Not even City at home?

Interesting, are you highly confident that Arteta isnt capable of getting us over the line?

I agree with you that some managers are definitely better than others at winning. In rugby, there is an excellent tactical manager who has lost all 7 grand finals he has been involved, often going in as the favourite.

My uncle is friends with him and i asked why the manager always loses despite being a great manager in general; he says he is so intense and desperate to win in the leadup that by the time the match is played, all the players are burnt out emotionally.

At this stage, yes...too much trauma to get over at this point, and I really question his decision making at key moments too.

He is a good manager, but I sadly feel he will never be a great winning one...some people just can't get there.

For example... I recently found out about this rugby manager who has lost all 7 finals he has been in, Arteta sounds like that loser.

Whilst he's been here for 5 years we've only really challenged for the title in two of those seasons, one of which was unexpected.

This season we were a win away from a champions league final.

Even the boss has said next year we need a major, so he's heaped pressure on himself already.

2021...lost Europa League semi.
2022...lost Top Four to Sp**s and Carabao Cup semi.
2023...lost title.
2024...lost title.
2025...lost Carabao Cup semi and Champions League semi.

5 seasons in a row we have failed every end of season goal that we have put ourselves in contention for, and even if some were unexpected you have to get at least a few over the line ffs.

That's a lot of trauma to overcome, the current Arsenal team must feel so burdened at this point which makes succeeding even harder.

Going from losing out of top 4 to then challenging for the title shows mental fortitude. It's not like we missed out on something and then went backwards?

Every season (barring this one) that we've missed out on something we've come back and done better.

2023 was probably the one, being 8 points clear is wild. 2024 we had to go on some stupid run to even come close, city were just brilliant in the second half of the season, didn't lose a game since gameweek 13 or something ridiculous.

The player it'll hurt the most is Saka, the rest have only experienced 2 or 3 years of this so far.

Impossible to argue with this.

Pretty easy really

2023 - no one expected us to challenge for the title, we lost cuz we had to play Rob ****ing Holding at CB in the run in

2024 - 89 points, 16-1-1 to finish the szn, missed out by 2 pts

2025 - CL semi was lost playing Mikel ****ing Merino upfront

Who built the squad where playing Holding and Merino respectively those seasons was required?

Any argument you make still leads back to a failure of the manager and club.

It's funny you kept the meltdown going about how the Europa League means nothing and Sp**s will be **** fully ignoring your perception of this season seems entirely warped by two miracle free kicks.

This season was quite merciful on us.

Arsenal Quotes

I believe the target of anything in life should be to do it so well that it becomes an art.
When you read some books they are fantastic, the writer touches something in you that you know you would not have brought out of yourself. He makes you discover something interesting in your life.
If you are living like an animal, what is the point of living? What makes daily life interesting is that we try to transform it to something that is close to art. And football is like that.
