Still not quite sure what to make of both city and liverpool this season and who's the bigger threat. Dunno if a draw or either side winning next week is the better result. Its still super early but if arsenal win, the loser of city and liverpool will be such a long way back and not sure they really have the quality to claw it back.

There’s a lot of talk about losses in this thread (4 for Liverpool and 3 for City) so just to give some context to that, here’s how the champions have ended their league campaign over the last 6 seasons:

24/25: [Liverpool] 25 wins, 4 losses, 84 points 2.2 PPG 66% win rate

23/24: [City] 28 wins, 3 losses, 91 points 2.4 PPG 74% win rate

22/23: [City] 28 wins, 5 losses, 89 points 2.3 PPG 74% win rate

21/22: [City] 29 wins, 3 losses, 93 points 2.4 PPG 76% win rate

20/21: [City] 27 wins, 6 losses, 86 points 2.3 PPG 71% win rate

19/20: [Liverpool] 32 wins, 3 losses, 99 points 2.6 PPG 84% win rate

After 10 games we currently have:

Arsenal: 8 wins, 1 loss, 2.5 PPG, 80% win rate.

Liverpool: 6 wins, 4 losses, 1.8 PPG, 60% win rate

City: 6 wins, 3 losses, 1.9 PPG, 60% win rate

Please correct me if anything is off, this was a quick search.

At 10 games in, this looks tricky to match for both of them while we look to be nicely on target. 28 wins, 3 losses and ~ 2.3 PPG looks to be a good target

They will be only other team that gets north 80 points in my opinion. I think we will need 90 points give or take

I don't think we need 90 points but I want 90 points plus so teams almost give up against us next season. We've seen it happen that champions that seem infallibale just steamrole teams until they give them a hint of hope.

We also haven't won back to back leagues in about 85 years

I feel this is slightly going like the 2022-23 season but we have better depth now to see though the injuries in the latter part of the season

I expect us to reach 92-93 points. That's my target too.

@UkrArsenal if we reach 92-93 points I think we're winning the title by 10-12 points. I just can't see how Haaland keeps up his form across the whole season while Liverpool have so many structural problems - the fact that they have both lost 3/4 games after just 10 games is significant.

If City can get Rodri fully fit he is a very key player for them as well if he is still the same player as before his injury, their win rate with him in the team is a lot better. They look a lot better than Liverpool to me.

But I also think we can go up a level if we can get our injuries under control. When we had out best runs of form in the past season Ødegaard was in top form, if he can get fully fit that's also an upgrade for us. And Saka is not playing at his best right now I think.

Yeah we probably won’t need 90 points. I actually don’t care about total point haul I want some kind of double. League cup and League. Better yet League and Cl. I think City will be a big threat though because Haaland is in unreal form. If he goes down they are in trouble as they don’t really have anyone else that teams fear

No point getting worried or excited about what Man City or Liverpool do week to week.

This title race is about us. If we perform to 90% of our capacity week on week there's nothing either of them can do to stop us.

We're the best functioning team in this league and by a bit of a margin. Let's just keep doing our thing and it'll all be good in the end.
