True he is getting more opportunities this season compared to last however you just need to watch him play and his level has significantly improved this season, his confidence looks like it’s through the roof:

We’re nearly half way through the season and he’s already on 26 G/A in 22 games in all comps.

Yeah he's definitely playing with more freedom and confidence. Was just more pointing out he was far from awful last season, I just think people want a bit more from a potential LW signing despite him being a clear upgrade on your current options even before this season.

I agree with your overall point that people are a bit too snobby when it comes to potential signings, but I think that's been the case with Arsenal fans for a long time now. Wenger was infamous for not wanting to sign a player if they weren't borderline perfect etc, even going an entire window only signing a keeper despite money being available with gaping holes in the squad. I think that kind of mentality has probably rubbed off on the fans a bit.

I'm on record saying the transfer window was shambolic anyway and the unwillingness to gamble a bit on a midfield or forward signing was a big part of that.

Shows how much of the game is mentality also. Fine tune some factors for some of these players and they can become very useful.

No excuse for us not to find two attackers next summer. Stop waiting for the perfect player in those positions. Just sign someone and make it work.

I think we will sign 2 attackers in the summer just saying it is not guaranteed.
As mentioned big money Anthony flopped at Man U and Pepe did here.
Ok people say our left attack needs improving which is a fair point.
However can't think of too many Prem LWs setting the world alight

For all the slating Nelli and Trossard are getting by some on here loads of clubs would take them in a heartbeat.

People lose perspective.
While I pretty much trust Arteta' to improve the squad that doesn't always mean you can get the players in positions you want.

Nah Liverpool with a new manager who’s spent very little on his own players, yet has them playing excellent attacking football and Chelsea, who for all the money spent, were an absolute mess on the pitch and now sit above us and score like 4 goals a game.
Meanwhile we’re basically set piece FC, after all the money spent.
