Premier League 24/25: Gameweek 2 (Aug 24 & 25)

Liverpool have so many quality "off the cuff" attackers with pace, that can just kill you at any moment with that bit of quality...probably the best in the league in that department.

Feels like our squad in the late 1990s, imagine teams were terrified of getting caught out by the likes of Anelka and Overmars.

I know, I just can’t stand them. Don’t apply logic to upset my agenda. But seriously, I’m not worried about them tbh. Lack of signings, bench doesn’t look great at all.
I don’t really think their defence has improved which was their undoing last season. Ipswich had some good opportunities last week, Brentford had some openings today where poor quality meant they couldn’t execute.

Pool should still make top 4 with ease. Next week should be an interesting match up against Man Utd

Still ‘above’ Liverpool after they played a promoted side and another that finished 16th and is without their best player. They couldn’t have had an easier start. Not bad.

Liverpool will be top three. But they are absolutely not winning the league. We are in a better position, particularly defensively as you say.

Jota, Diaz and ofc Salah. That’s three. It does not compare to our late 90’s team, and is comparible to us and City right now at a minimum. Do not agree.

I honestly can't remember the last player we had who could run at defenders consistently and score goals from it, tbh...Alexis probably, and that's quite a while ago.

We are an elite system, but none of our forwards have that dynamism that Diaz, Jota and obviously Salah have...ironically I think our system both kills other teams while also slightly hindering our attacking players, feel someone like Saka could do with a little more freedom.

They don’t, and they are not best in the league in that department. It’s basically Jota, Diaz and obviously Salah only. They have that cart horse Nunez and need to bring on the freak Elliot for reinforcements. I’m not worried.

Surprised the Ouattara goal was called for handball, they could have gone with the less controversial call on blocking Pope according to that new rule.

Pool is a talented team, but below us and City.

Remains to be seen if Slot's style will keep them healthier over the course of the year compared to Klopp's thrash/death metal football.

I just saw the Joelinton clothesline on Neto - what the actual ****? How does Newcastle keep getting away with this ****?

More like, how does that rabid animal, Joelinton, keep getting away with it?

Guy looks more suited for UFC anyway, a crossover should be seamless for all sides concerned.
