Honestly where did it go all wrong for Man United. I thought they had a very good 22/23 season. ETH first year. 3rd place in the league and won the league cup

Been inherited an awful team

Yeah let's see in a year after he's had a transfer window and pre season and all that. That club is a mess so would take time for anyone to sort it out realistically. It makes me happy to see how poor/average most of their recent signings look though.

I think that 3rd place finish was flattering for them. I watched many of their games and often they'd concede lots of chances but somehow De Gea would keep them in the game and then they'd fluke a goal or 2 to win it(usually some rashford magic moment) Also Casemiro was still looking like a top player and Rashford had an epic purple patch. After those 2 fell off it fell apart again.

The problem with system football being dull is that I don't think there will be a way to change it. It's not like formations or tactics that come and go.
It's been led by the advances in global football, AI and data driven football.

Everything is computerised, players are recruited for certain specialities and qualities like cogs in a machine.

The maverick that can change a game with a bit of individual brilliance can get lost in all that.
And that's the great shame because you wonder if or when we'll see magical players like Messi, Ronaldinho and both Ronaldo's again. Madrid and PSG sort of have a good balance atm

City have an easy schedule but they could really be in danger of missing out on CL

Micromanaged to within an inch of their lives"and "robotic" says Neville who muses that there have been too many games like this in the PL. Liverpool in fairness have sadly played pretty free

Thought Chelsea and city would close the gap with us but the gap still 10 points. 2-3 more wins from us and top 4 is done
