Could have been worse tbf. As underwhelming Gyok has been so far, it could have very easily been €85m on Benny Sisqo, not getting Eze and the fans rueing why we didn’t spend a similar fee on Ekitike who is a much better player.

I sense spending less on Gyok enabled us to spread our spending on numerous positions.

I think this was the general Strategy tbf. Took a gamble on Gyok, hope we get Alvarez next summer.

We did, but all of those chances they created against us in Carabou came in the first 15 while our new defensive unit figured it out, plus had Nørgaard in front.

Let's be honest, Ekitike, Sesko, Woltemade and Gyokeres were all questionable. Ekitike had lots of ingredients but up until now couldn't finish. We already had that in G Jesús.

Yeah I think a young CF was always in the cards but priority for depth overruled that. Great call if you think about the state of the team this current campaign. Also I think having Gabby Jesus, Kai and super Merino filling as makeshift CF, all in the books, makes it an easier call as well.

I think G. Jesus will be sold this summer and perhaps Kai will also be in the market if he performs well on his return from injury, and a suitable offer emerges for him. I think they're already a number of reports out there indicating we are in the search for a young prolific CF, so the club definitely knows what's up.

They have been poor after conference league games, although this week was so easy for them, they made lots of changes early on. Fingers crossed they can do something.

That is the risk when buying young or unproven players. Our next CF purchase much be someone proven on highest stage. Woltemade, Alvarez, Osimhen or even Kane.

The new TV deal allows them to show every 14:00 kick-off, so they crammed as many good games into that window as possible to maximise viewership.
