Money is a given. Without money no one challenges for things anymore. Everyone has money to spend. This ownership actually starved us of money for years till they got full control of the club and only recently have started to spend at the level a club like ours should. So no, i dont give them any credit.

I give credit to the guy who spent the money so astutely..each and every signing has been a hit. All of the signings were completed professionally and with minimal fuss. They anticipated the needs very well and planned and bought well. We all felt surprised when Hincapie was signed, but look how vital he is now.
Would have been easy to spend less. Still would have been good enough for top 4, likely lost a Saliba and / or Gabriel. Players aren't signing extensions without the cash, we've seen that movie before here.

Pedro Neto played that entire game scared out of his mind. It was bizarre.

Credit the ownership as well. Putting the money up for extensions and transfers. All you need to do is look at Sullivan and Enic pocketing the extra cash they get at West Ham and Sp**s.

Yeah.. they did spend less for years and years and literally starved the club so they could buy it cheap. If they had bought a striker last year maybe we would be in a better place. Better late than never, but i dont like them one bit

Fun little quip from The Raven newsletter by the Men in Blazers crew:

This was Arsenal’s best weekend ever. Manchester City reminded us that football is amazing, and by amazing, I mean hilarious. They crapped the bed at the death against post-Maresca Chelsea with Enzo’s sucker-punch goal at the last leaving City six points back from the league leaders. Expect City to put in a $100 million bid for Harrison Reed in 3… 2… 1… (A word on Enzo Maresca’s exit, which is still being decoded in the court of press briefings and counter-briefings. The truth is, two things can be true: Maresca overreached and Chelsea are a chaos culture with a day-trading approach to talent acquisition who will buzz-saw managers.) 🙃

The true joy of the weekend was watching Arsenal outlast Bournemouth. A game that was like Exhibit A for Premier League scriptwriters actually existing. A Gabriel **** up leads to Gabriel redemption. Then Declan Rice rebounding from injury to score a pair of daggers – the second of which, involving the transcendent-again Ødegaard and Saka, reminded me of the old Johan Cruyff quote, "Playing football is very simple but playing simple football is the hardest thing there is.” Arsenal have fought, set-pieced, and own-goaled their way to a perfect 12 points out of 12 over the holidays. Lovely stat from the BBC: Arsenal have two more points and have scored four more goals at this stage of the season than the Invincibles in 03/04

I don't like people who own Walmart, Russian oligarchs and oil state owners but here we are.
