Just watching highlights, that Liverpool pen given was absolutely bs. Can't believe var didn't overrule that. Good that they missed.

Got a feeling Carrick will have United finish third, which would be absolutely fkn mental.
He did really well at Middlesbrough considering their circumstances when he joined. They were also the 2nd highest scorers in the league even though they were in the relegation zone when he joined.

He's the Danish discount Emery. Not a bad manager but he's not going to make a side assert themselves on the opposition, very much a pragmatist which can really help raise the floor but I think it also really limits how far you can go.

Also a really bad time to join Sp**s. They need a massive squad overhaul but someone like Frank is not going to be given the time or money to do that.
They were honestly better off with Ange. I just don't understand why they switched. That season they had both their first choice CB's out for half the season and they still got Europa League and Champions League football. They should have give him another season.

They switched because they were laughable defensively if Ange did something with thier defense he'd be still coaching them

Shows how weak this league is when clubs like Liverpool and Utd are still in the CL places. I think these clubs haven’t won 60% of their matches.

Outside Arsenal and maybe Villa, is there a club that isn’t abysmal one way or the other this season? Such a non enjoyable season of football.

Because the teams below them are of a higher standard than they used to be in general. Man Utd and Sp**s were slumming it near relegation last season. They were also the Europa League final.

If you look at the PL through the eyes of it has to look like the tables of the 2000s then you're disregarding the immense amount of money that has flooded into the league.

If you look at the teams outside the top 6, they aren’t strong - West Ham, Everton, Sp**s, Palace all having poor seasons.

League is more balanced in terms of strength, that can’t be argued and was always going to happen with English money now being able to recruit the best in terms of coaches, players, staff, medical team etc.

I think there is a problem at the top clubs. Gary Neville seems to think they have lesser coaches than previous years, meaning the standard has fallen off. The top clubs have been hiring and firing consistently. Maybe the new trend of young coaches with a DoF model is having teething problems. For me the decline is clear to see in all aspects.

What is the measure for the quality league anyway ?

Think that best quality of EPL was between 2004 and 2012 when Big 4 was involved and they are all had solid chance to win Champions League, we now have maybe two teams from EPL that can win CL.

Quality of football played..you are right that that era was very high level. Rooney, van persie, drogba, costs, aguero, suarez etc here and barca and real going eyeball to eyeball with messi and Özil and kroos and iniesta and dortmund and bayern having lewa, robben, ribery, reus, goetze etc

The technical term for what happened to the PL is "enshittification".

Some people just don't get it. This league table actually shows how strong the league is.

Arsenal Quotes

Right from his very first match, when Patrick Vieira was as yet unknown to the English public, he showed just how talented he was. No one disputed his ability, and he gave me the credibility and the hold over the club that I needed to take it in the direction I wanted. He and Emmanuel Petit became a duo that would remain forever etched in the memories of Arsenal fans.
