• To all AM members and guests.

For the start of the new season, Arsenal Mania has relaunched the news side of the site. All articles are written by genuine Arsenal fans with no hidden agenda. You can visit the site via the menu at the top of the forum pages or go direct to our homepage

Additionally, Arsenal Mania is now sending all its registered members a bi-weekly Briefing Bulletin containing a digest of news and views from both parts of the site. Some of you may have already received the first edition and those that haven't should do so before the big kick off against United. If you are a guest visitor to this forum then if you join as a member, you will automatically receive the Bulletin.

Please support both these initiatives and help ensure the long term future of our site.

Yeah, it’s beyond stupid. He’s a limited goalkeeper for sure, and he might be a limited fullback. But you can apply that rule to absolutely any player in any position. Haaland is a striker and he’s the best in the world. To say he’s limited is just ridiculous.
Yeah it's not like you have strikers that can hold up the ball like Giroud or dribble past players with skill like Jesus or be able to act as a playmaker like Kane. Same way all fullbacks aren't necessarily limited to just be a defender but can also be skillfull or have eye for a pass like Trent. Same way a Goalkeeper isn't limited neccesarily to just shot stopping but can also be good with his feet. Raya vs. Donnaruma is the perfect example of a Goalkeeper who's limited to one who isn't actually. Just let it go man.

I don't think he will sustain this goalscoring rate all season. It will still be pretty high but not this high.
He does start the season off quite strongly then tail off slightly tbf. Think it’s happened in every season except his first where he just kept it going.

Haaland one end and Donnarumma at the other means you can never rule them out even if they're not as "complete" as we are. If they are still in the hunt come March they could easily go on one of their late season runs too.
They know how to get it done. I think we’re a better team with better depth but if both teams are close with 10 games to go, I’m unfortunately not putting my money on Arsenal.

Feels like the international break has come at a bad time; Rodri off injured today, Liverpool in disarray and us with some momentum and winnable fixtures. Would have been ideal to continue without the break

But dont you know they are both limited players. Only good at striking and goalkeeping 🤪

Barry

Definitely Not An Old Poster
What do you make about rumors and bird whispers that Barry is say yes?
The really inconvenient thing for me is that Say yes returned to the forum almost the exact same week that I stopped posting... complete coincidence, but no one's going to believe that are they?

I take it all as a compliment anyway.

Love your work by the way - Top 5 poster, easily. You kept the faith even through the darkest hours 👍

Thats crazy but classic thing to happen on a forum. I never put much thought in the rumor anyway. I miss say yes. Glad you are here. Hope everything is going well!

Rodri admitted that he's fine. Just faked it to avoid the internationals

Yeah, the reassuring thing is that they'd eemingly still haven't the squad or ability to play well without him

And he's 29 coming off an ACL. He can't play all the minutes so over a season they'll likely drop points as a result. Sadly they have Haaland which can cancel out something like that

Random but love the way Brentford go about their football. Tuck in, long ball, pace up top, chance, goal. Proper agricultural. Takes me back to FIFA 13.
You phrased it well, their match against United was a classic in that they had so many chances and it didn't need any special creativity from them, they just played too direct and Amorim was left watching his shoes yet again

I’m surprised a lot of the smaller teams haven’t gone back to 442 with a big man / little man up top tbh. They keep trying to play out the back and **** and just failing at it. It’s time again for 90s ball.

It works. I am just waiting until everyone has copied it, then I shall come up with something new.
