All Maresca has to do is organise the defence and midfield, keep them boring and just let the attackers do their thing.

Arteta doesn't have that luxury, the entire attack is full of bums.

We will be neck and neck this season.

Not really, one injury to Haaland is all it takes

Firstly Haalaand is never injured i been hearing this comment for 3 seasons now.

Secondly no, Semenyo Chekri and Halaand are all difference makers and can change the swing of a game. They don't just have one.

We have zero btw.

I heard someone point out that anytime the defence or midfield is needed to bail out a stinky attacking performance, they have been there continously for seasons.

Yet anytime they have an off day, can we ever rely on the attack to pick up the pieces and still give us a fighting chance?

No, we cannot. We are where we are in despite of them, and it was extremely risky being so heavily reliant on the defence and midfield for another season.

This season is 100% nuked, whatever way things pan out with City it’s going to be bedlam, there’s simply no way around it.

Didn’t even get to enjoy the follow up to our title winning season.

If this is about the Brighton game it makes no sense, the attack didn't concede 3 goals it was the defence they didn't bail anyone out.

This whole blaming the attack thing is such an agenda that started in the summer and now people are gonna run with it anytime we drop points. Not sure why Arsenal fans are so obsessed with miserable narratives.

To be fair, our attackers largely stink it up.

I spent months last winter trying to explain its both. Always the both. You beed to be good at both. Attack win games and defense win titles. Or you can turn the quote Defense win games and attack win titles. Its both. Both.

Some are like very invested in the idea you just buy best attackers and outscore every team. But that is very difficult over a course of a season. Because smaller teams have become so good at keeping it tight at the back. Defend as unit and frustrate a lot. They also have a quality in attack so when you do commit forward you have to be very good at defending counters.

hopefully we will be blessed with top attsckers to match our elite defense. Already feel like we are getting there with Saka, Tzolis and Havertz. Need to let them cook for a while!

Liverpool signed Isak and Barcola, the type of players these guys worship. Let's see what happens this season and if they finish above us.

I would have take both tbh although I think Havertz is better than Isak and the prizes are insane and I underdtand the club not pulling thr trigger.

I just dont get if we are saying we should skip signing Mosquera, Hincape, Calafiori or Timber and focus on spending on attack. Those were great signings. Konsa another one which everyone dreaded in the summer. His contribution has been worth every penny we put in him.

Let me see Liverpool win the league then is all Im saying. Same with Madrid and Vini, let me see why this forum was begging for these players all summer.

We got unlucky that the transfer window after winning the league was a joke, 100m for small upgrades.

The mistake we've made was reducing numbers in attack imo. The CL final the legs were completely gone by then. Even more of a mistake after a World Cup with players not getting enough rest.

Might as well have kept Trossard, not like we got much money anyway.

yeah I think that's it. we're just going to need a lot of luck with injury and form. could easily see injuries to Havertz and Saka, and loss of form from Gyok and Tzolis, and then who's scoring the goals?

Arsenal Quotes

The coach's role is to make the player understand everything that serves the interest of the game. To do this he must speak to the child within each player, to the adolescent he was and the adult he is now. Too often a coach tends only to speak to the adult, issuing commands for performance, for victory, for reflection, to the detriment of the child who is playing for pleasure, living in the present.
