Arsenal host the Geordies in the final home match of the season. Arsenal can guarantee 2nd with a win. Team news Merino is suspended and Havertz is a doubt. Also of course Gabriel and jesus are out .The referee is Simon Hooper.

I love the idea that he's angry at the owners for only giving him 6 years and 750m. The fact that our role models just had a trophyless season despite all the expenditure should tell us it's time to cut our losses
When you analyze Arteta’s "six years" you have to think of where we were. At the time he joined with the squad quality we had no right to even expect a trophy. Progressively we've gotten better and now we are at a point where we expect something. We can't win Europa because we're not in it. Let's hope for the best next year. We have four chances at a trophy and with the right reinforcements we can hopefully get at least one.

I'll never get over 02/03 we should have won that ****ing title it was such a colossal **** up.

That Viduka dagger 🗡️ still gives me PTSD
Forget that we lost the title that year at Bolton when we blew a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2.. you can’t say United won the title cause of refs that season tbh

2003 was a bad fu3k up from us that no one really talks about tbh... though I guess still winning the cup that season, a Double the year before and a freaking Unbeaten Championship the year after kinda makes it easy to gloss over.

Still if things went our way we should have done a 3-peat of Prems from 2002-2004, and either a Champion League in 2006 (or even 2001) shame...still wouldn't try supporting Arsenal in that time for anything though!

Valencia were no mugs back then though and had recently made back to back CL finals and had a then top class manager in Rafa.

Ajax somehow making it through with 5 draws is mental in hindsight. We should’ve beaten them at least once - yes they had Zlatan and a couple of other future names but weren’t a really great outfit.

2002 was a killer because if we hold in Leverkusen we would’ve gone through the second group. 2007 was also a poor effort although the squad wasn’t great.

Worst exit is still 2004 followed by 2002 then 2003 for me. That stupid UEFA format really was ridiculous.

Arsenal Quotes

It’s not impossible to go through a season unbeaten and I can’t see why it’s shocking to say that.

Arsène Wenger, 2 years before the Invincibles completed the unbeaten league season
