That we struggle against deep defences is not some revelation to be had from this game. It has been known by PL teams since last season. We do not play through the central areas under Arteta, so teams funnel us to the channels and try to prevent wide overloads. It is always going to be a gamble to score with this approach and totally depends on the form and ingenuity of our players on the day.
Even longer than last season.
We had problems with low and midblocks even in 2023/24.

This team badly needs a Dubai vacation again.

On the plus side, Saliba looked really good and assured. Can’t wait to have big Gabby back to fix this defense.

Gyokeres has major issues. Not sure if he’s going to last very long at Arsenal to be honest. He lacks in so many important facets.

Watched Arteta's post match press. Guy was so pissed. Threw Nelli under the bus for the shocking header first half. Good we have a week of training before Everton

It's almost as if having our back 4 all injured has destabilised the team...
i am sure we will drop point with hincapie at centre back when we lead with small margin 1-0 like against fulham away, newcastle away & palace home

i am not try to bully hincapie but i just speaking fact

Bloody hell, the whining on here. Been clear for a fortnight that our players are largely carrying knocks or knackered.

Fitness dictated selection tonight and it was a line-up that didn't suit playing against a deep block. Then when White got injured as were left with no attacking threat from FB because timber is clearly not fit. Then it became horseshoe of death time.

All our defenders are carrying knocks or injured, Rice has been running on fumes since the Bayern game, ode and gyok not match fit, trossard carrying a knock etc. Our only players fit and in form are both left footed right wingers.

I expect a much better performance against an Everton team who will venture out of their own half before the 80th minute, simply because we will have more fit players.

I feel like despite circumstances we could’ve kept certain players who were playing well in their roles. Timber at RB, Saliba at RCB, Hincapie at LCB, Myles or Calafiori at LB. I’m not there yet with trusting Arteta to optimise the resources at his disposal and not galaxy-braining it.

Did you see Timber? Clearly not fit and barely crossed half way. Playing white was trying to protect timber

Timber was given the week off without being on the bench for the CL. I'd say it was better to play him over White and give MLS LB who needs minutes.

Of course sweetheart.
I said a cagey 2-1 tonight and you came back with a laughable, what was it you said? 3 or 4 nil? lol.
Don’t be sad son. Just know that I’m better than you in predicting how the matches will turn out!

I don't want to point at an individual player.

Something is very wrong with our attack patterns. Large part of our open play feels like macro level time wasting. There is an enormous amount of time where it feels like there is no attacking intent. We overplay, take too many touches, do it all so slowly. How often do we miss the moment?

We immediately looked better when Trossard came on, and for me he has gone from being a possible sell to first name on the team sheet in this moment (maybe second after Rice).

This was utterly awful, and it is a management problem.
Absolutely. I’ve said for years that we’re the worst counter attacking team in the league. We’re so goddamn slow and we give the opposition way too much time to recover. That’s a coaching problem.

Arteta says today performance was unacceptable and this week they'll training at certain things

Also confirm Saliba was Risked today because we have no choice
Training training training. ****ing control freak.

Let them play without fear you tit. 1-2 touch football, playing forward. Conceding 1 but scoring 3.

Risk averse loser mentality.

This season is win or out.

No one could have imagined for a single second that he would come to us. Only David Dein, Sol, his agent, and I knew what was going on. When I called a press conference to announce the arrival of a new player, and Sol Campbell walked into the room full of journalists, it was a bombshell.
