*** The Ian Wright derby ***

The final game before our 1st leg CL SF against PSG. We need to be resting as many crucial players as possible, but we should still get a home win.

Raya
White Saliba Kiwi KT
TP Ode Zinny
Nwaneri Trossard/Merino Sterling

TP is suspended for 1st leg against PSG, so it's reasonable to play him here & give Rice a day off. I would be interested in seeing Zinny in the 8, with Trossard or Merino up front, as this may tell Teta whether it can work, whilst also not causing too much disruption to a unit which has worked well in the CL recently, with Merino as a false 9.

Three points helps secure our 2nd place in PL, & will put 10 points between us & Newcastle in 3rd. A good win will keep the confidence high & the momentum going.

Let's goooo 💪🏼

Another 5 goals will do nicely please 🔥🔥🔥

(Sorry this is not quite up to the standards of AM matchday thread don @Oxeki , but it's my first one, so be gentle 😂😁)

We have a 6 day break from this match to the first tie vs PSG. I'm actually going in the opposite direction: we need to play our PSG starting XI (or close to it) vs Palace. Otherwise players are going to be going 10 or so days between games which is not ideal.
Good point well presented Sir.

With such a depleted & thin squad, these are such big conundrums for the manager aren't they !

Palace will have their minds on the FA cup semis. Probably will rotate a few of their players. Should be a friendly game kinda fixture.
Yes so no excuses with this one. 3 points, a clean sheet, & no injuries.

Hopefully Eddie doesn't score some fluky goal against us either, although if he does he'll probably do one of those corny 'no celebration' celebrations 🙃

Why is it not ideal? Because they will lose rhytm and form? I am not sure if this is true.

If he doesn't want to test something on how to play against PSG. I would rest players that played too many minutes or the ones we need to protrect: Rice, Ødegaard, Saka, Timber, Martinelli. Saliba would be one but I think CB is less risky and the chemistry can still grow with Kiwior. Maybe we will see something like this and than sub off Rice and Ødegaard

Going to this. So many tickets on the exchange seen as this is basically a dead rubber.
How does this work? Does this circumvent the points thing required to purchase tickets? Or, if you have the points then you can purchase from what's available?

I still can't wrap my head around not being able go on an app, buy from what's available, and go without much hassle.

Partey at RB is a no no for me. White is fit to play, so he plays there.

Partey at RB is an injury waiting to happen.

If you’re a Red member you can enter ballots for almost any home game (entered the PSG one today) but obviously harder for certain games. Costs like £30 a season to register.

Then for a lot of games like Palace where they’re midweek or not meaningful people will re-sell them on the official exchange which is open to everyone.

Exchanges for better matches sometimes need you to have entered the ballot.

Thanks. Doesn't seem too bad, just have to keep on top of being current with the account then it seems. I've had friends here saying they were buying tickets to games they wouldn't go to just to accumulate points to be able to have a better chance to go to a different game. They're Chelsea fans so I was half paying attention, tbh. That's not something I'd care to do - I want to bring my son over soonish to get to a game (hopefully next season when we win the league  ).

Silver is above Red and I think that’s where the points come in tbh mate.

Might be wrong but also comes into play for away games which are always hard to go to.

You can pick off nine or ten games a year pretty easily just through the exchange and maybe one or two if you’re lucky in the ballot.

Yeah this is spot on, you can't be resting players for a game that's a week away. As you say we need the team that's likely starting vs PSG so they can familiarise themselves. After that maybe use MLS midfield again for 20-30 mins in case we need him there, Zinny, Partey, Nwaneri can come on, whoever else.

If any player is carrying any kind of knock, they shouldn't touch grass unless absolutely necessary. I know I know players carry knocks all the time, but we've had too many hamstring injuries this season, I think the players themselves, manager, and medical staff have been running the boys into the ground.

Would like to see us stick to that midfield from yesterday, looked very good albeit against a poor side. I'd imagine that's the three Arteta will go for against PSG as well.
