They are coming off a 3-0 win so will have a lot of confidence even if Xhaka isn’t playing. We need to defend properly in this game

Predicted 5-0. I think we are going to be smashing this small teams for fun for a bit. If we score early, they are in big trouble.

A comfortable win, no injuries please.

Then on Sunday, open a bottle of beer and watch Rodri cry after a Salah dive while Pep scratches his head. After the game journalists will ask him how he feels after being 9 points behind Arsenal:

'No no no no no, I am so happy, even losing today I am so happy how we are doing the way'

The team I want to see:

Raya
White - Saliba - Gabriel - Calafiori
Zubimendi - Nørgaard
Madueke - Havertz - Trossard
Gyökeres

I feel like we only have 5 nailed-on starters. Raya, Zubi, Rice, Big Gabi, and Saliba. Whenever one of them doesn't start, it feels like we are a weaker side..

Every other position, I never really feel like we are that weak, regardless of who starts, except maybe when Saka sits. Noni is playing well and Saka is off form, so even that gap isn't huge.

At fullback, I am ok with any two of Timber, White, Califiori, or Hincapie. MLS is dicey for me though.. Timber is slightly ahead of the other three, but it isn't huge.

At winger, any combination of Trossard, Saka, Noni, Martinelli, Jesus, and Eze would work for me. If you ranked them 1 thru 6, and compared the gap between your top winger and your last winger, I don't think it is that big. If everyone is on form, I think clearly Saka is number 1, but as of today, maybe not so much.

At striker, not much between Havertz, Gyokeres, and Jesus on current form.

At the 10 position, Ødegaard, Eze, and Havertz, not much between them.

I dunno if this is a good thing. Maybe it is better for us to have clear, nailed on starters at every position, but then our depth is a problem. It is definitely not a problem now except for a true backup for Rice.

Sunderland will give us a battle that's for sure, we have the Tue/Sat gap which is always the more preferable, and then after that we don't play till Thursday, so I think anyone who's running up the mileage should be rested Saturday, key ones for me are one of Rice and Zubimendi should be rested, and I feel in this game Nørgaard should be trusted instead of Zubi, they'll go very direct (particularly if Xhaka is missing) and bypass the midfield, so Nørgaard surely can be trusted

I'd like to see Calafiori and Havertz start, we look more of a threat going forward with both of them on the pitch

Raya

White Saliba Gabriel Calafiori
Nørgaard
Havertz Rice
Madueke Gyokeres Trossard

These guys are good defensively so don’t think we will be scoring many. Think it will be a nervy 2-1 but we get over the line.
